Can't fine tune the whole W/M and K04 setup or you can't dyno my car after you guys upload the 100 octane K04 tune on it? Not very specific...

Oh and since I have Stage II, would the K04 file be ready for my car or do you need my box code? I'm sure you could look it up with my APR info. PM me for that info.

If you want the flexibility to modify a tune for your specific applications to really get the most out of your setup, go with something like Eurodyne Maestro. APR doesn't get involved in that type of stuff. You pretty much accept what they offer off the shelf, or try something different. Many good options, but the best option depends on what you're looking for. APR is the easier option, and the 100 octane file has shown to work great with w/m setups. Eurodyne would be ideal if you plan to ever upgrade to a true big turbo.

Right. After looking into this for years now I came to terms on what I need and expectations out of this car. I'm a very busy guy and need something that I can drive as a daily driver and to not have issues all the time trying to get the tune and setting correct. As of now the K04 is the best option for running stock internals and the fuel system within safe limits. Later on when a bigger turbo mixed with fuel options come out, I'll build the motor and have a little more fun with it. It came down to CTS and APR K04, I chose the APR K04 because of the same price ($100 Dif)with both being on sale, I know my IC piping will work, no modifying, I can keep my HFC and whatever else I'm forgetting. They push the same power and the APR K04 tune has very good numbers with the 100 octane file so I'll be happy with that for a while... Until a few years down the road when more options are out as I said before. Obviously I plan to keep this car, so the build continues.

Yeah, couldn't agree more. I am driving an APR car, but this kind of crap makes me reconsider! How difficult is it for construct a more detailed and service oriented response?!

Yeah that response pissed me off pretty quickly, so I called their office. Arin is very busy and away from his desk, they have a lot going on this week so that may be the reason but he could have waited to respond with an actual answer.

That being said APR can't dyno my car, they only use theirs for testing and doing in-house work. So I'll be going there for my tune to be loaded and that's about it from them. I'll be going back to the place that will dyno my car while on Stage II so this will be good to see the numbers coming from the same dyno.

lol all the APR hate and bs from the reps made me reconsider buying anything from them, went with a eurodyne tune and ill probably be going with a CTS intercooler kit.

I mean, this is what you should have been doing anyway. Comparing numbers from two different dynos is pointless.

Well it wasn't mainly to get the standard numbers but to see if we could squeeze anymore power out of it there. Going back to the original dyno was on my things to do but wanted to see what APR's dyno would read anyway.

What are your thoughts on me driving 3.5 hours away to get my K04 tune loaded when running the Stage II tune at the time? I'm sure I'll be good as long as I'm not going crazy with it and driving easy to the shop.

You'll be fine. I drove a week on stage 2 tune with k04 hardware. Non-issue.

ECS Tuning Intake Pipe vs 034 Intake Pipe

Okay so first off 034 is great and I'm sure theirs is better off now but this is just to show what I swapped out and why. The 034 one I have is their first model and when it first came out I believe in 2011 you had to trim it to fit, it worked I guess. As you can see in the pics below between the ECS and 034, the 034 is smaller and sunken in (you can't really see it in the pics). For the ECS, it's a little too long and makes your intake box stick up just a little but the pipe is a lot bigger as you can see.

Performance wise, I don't think it'll make much of a difference but I mainly got this for my K04 install. I wanted to get a new one since the new ones are bigger and might make a difference with the added power. The pipe was also sunken in as I said so that was another factor that bothered me.

I also took a picture for others for a good place to put the tightening point of the clamp, I've seen people on here talk about taking their air box in and out to fit it correctly. This will get rid of that wasted time.

Edit: I might need to cut the turbo side down a little. It's making the intake box pop up and make contact with the hood. The turbo sound is a little bit more noticeable and the response feels a little better but that's probably because I've been driving my truck the last week and a half.

I had the K&N for a couple days and didn't like it. Too much noise that didn't sound good. Sounded more like a squeal. I also got the APR Carbonio off a guy on here and just replaced the filter and you here a much better sound. Just my $.02!

^ like he said plus I like mine because it doesn't suck the warm air from the bay like an open one would.

It's mostly looks man, just get the AFE filter if you don't have it and you'll be set with the intake pipe you already have.

Yeh I hear ya on that, DV+ and a stage 2 tune take away from that screech a bit but like if i hold 30% throttle or so for a long time, it sounds like i have a belt slipping. Considering dumping it as well.

I was going to get a used APR intake as well. I went a different route as with most upgrades I've done. http://www.aemintakes.com/mobile/pro...px?prod=21-750 might install this weekend. You can't beat price, I got it for $195.00 shipped. While I know it won't make a major change. it can't hurt performance either. The fact that the filter is non oiled makes it a better deal as well. I like the look and the one review it does have sounds promising.

Hmm, I didn't know they had a top cover for those. Might sound better for you if you use it since others have issues with the sound. It would cut down on sucking the hot air from the bay too.

Yeah the fact that it has a cover also factored in my decision. My car is stage 2/3ish with GFB DV+ so I can hear the valve when I let off the throttle. Will be selling the ECS Turbo intake hose and Pro dry AFE filter soon. Hey an unrelated question Those Europe plates were purchased here? Do you get any flack from Osifers?

I actually had the APR B8 one made before I left Germany, the real plates I had to turn in before they shipped my car over. I was stationed there for a few years and the back windows have the Nürburgring stickers for a reason. It was only 45 min down the road.

You can't beat price, I got it for $195.00 shipped. While I know it won't make a major change. it can't hurt performance either. The fact that the filter is non oiled makes it a better deal as well. I like the look and the one review it does have sounds promising.

Interesting.... Didn't know AEM had an intake for the b8s... Actually looks pretty well made!.. large filter too and easy access .. Apr's is quite a pain to access quickly

    Well it can fit the A4 B8... With a 3.2 V6!...

I suggest you send him the ECS link I put above before he screws someone over. It show's the engines it works with.

I'm not sure he's the brightest or something else is going on but in the post he made to sell it says b5 then he goes to say he has an S5 with the V8. If you look at the ECS site to see what it fits, it fits his motor. Shady.

Installed Kit Today, took it for a short drive. Feels pretty nice. I suggest putting box together with cover then drop in and connect hose to turbo. I did notice some whistling at partial throttle but over all its not bad sounds kinda cool.
