DIS Compatibility - Auto vs Manual

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys

I have a 2006 manual, the DIS is starting to lose some of its display, especially on hot days.

I have an entire cluster from a 2005 A4 auto, would the DIS be interchangeable? or is it auto specific?

Also any write-up on pulling these apart that you are aware of would be awesome.

    Thanks

The DIS should be interchangeable between the two. However, doing the work is something relatively precise (unsoldering and resoldering) that you shouldn't do unless you had experience and the tools to do so.

Thanks for the info. I have a buddy that would be able to do the transfer for me, Looking for any info that could assist him, even just getting the cluster apart.

Yeah, I can't help you there. I've seen television programs that had it, and coincidentally, saw an advertisement for DIS repair not too far away from me.
