Hello all, I've been lurking and learning for a wile now. I have owned many vag products, but fell in love with the B6 S4. About a month has gone by since I purchased my 05 Dolphin gray six speed, it has just over 80000 miles on the clock. I had thought I inspected it rather whell befor purchasing it but without being able to get under the car and the excitement of it all, things were missed. I knew it needed a lot of work when I got it, just oil changes and tires were replaced by the previous owner, the things like monts and axles and coolant leaks just went not worried about. I paid $7000 after A lot of haggling, my budget was $12000 and all the work will be done by me. I'm going to use this thread as a place to document my progress.

Things I have done so far.

    Maintenance.

    Oil retention valves, and jet
Valley pan gasket, oil stand gasket
    Valve cover gaskets
    Water pump assembly
    Both front axles
    Starter
    Left side radiator
    Zimmerman cross drilled front rotors
    Akebono pads

    Modifications.

    JHM Tune
    JHM manifold spacers
    XS down pipes
    AWE exhaust
    KW variant 3
    034 RSB
    034 snub
    034 engine mounts, track
    034 transmission mount
    Apikol rear diff mount
    034 adjustable upper control arms
034 density line lower control arms
    19in Hartman R8 wheels

Welcome to the B6 club. Glad you are saving a B6 that someone else has neglected. My box of 034 mounts didn't come with an orange-handled flathead...

Great intro, btw. Not CAP-LOCKING for help, crying about your car being broken, or asking what size wheels to buy. Thank you for that. Truly...

    Welcome!

That is quite a list of maintenance and tasteful modifications for month 1, nice work!

When you say things were "missed", are you referring to the maintenance that you've already done or are there further issues?

Thanks for the welcome, I plan on keeping this car, hand it down. I was referring to the maintenance, like putting gas in the car on the drive home and having it not start up again. Had to tap the starter to get it going again.

Welcome, great to see someone putting some time, effort and money into keeping another neglected B6 S4 on the road. It all becomes worth it once you hear that V8 ROR and know that your driving an enthusiasts car.

Today's project consisted of getting a little bit more room from the front fenders.

Congratulations on your purchase. Looks like you're off to a great start! I've had mine for 3 months and I'm not even close to being as modified as yours. How do you like the suspension upgrades? I'm currently looking at upgrading mine also

Thanks, everything has been falling into place. The variant 3's are everything they're hyped up to be. But if your not a DIY kind of guy I would go for something with less adjustably. The way our cars are designed it is really hard to make any adjustment when on the car. Once lowered you need adjustable upper control arms or you will destroy your tires. The car feels like its on rails, my next mode will be a rear sway bar, the front is vary tight but the rear still feels unbalanced.

Suitable defiantly, they are the best but a waste if never properly used.

The only modification the car had when purchased was the cat back. I wanted the tune from JHM so I went with the XS pipes until I can save for JHM headers. I really have no complaints, the mounts for the trans are useless, apart from that they fit ok. I got them used so it was a good choice for me but if your paying for new parts, just save and get FI.

Always fun to get a new ride and have to do all the work to get it where you want it.
Funny how some people can just A-B a car and not car about the little things.

Awesome! im sure it will make a huge difference. As for poster above commenting on XS DP's they fit like shit and probably leaking.....and the exhaust is 2.25 anyways which is restricting the flow.

Ive heard headers are a beast. Im about to get the Intake manifold set and after that headers are next.

Yeah? So you've checked out OP's car and know this for a fact? SMH

And for what it's worth, I'm not interested in buying a set. I was just asking since there seems to be mixed reviews on fitment/quality.

General consensus is that these DPs are a really poor knock off with fitment and other quality issues, just like their other products. OP also had an issue:

I think all FastEddie was trying to do is just to raise awareness on these dps. I agree I wouldn't run these if I got them for free, but that's just me. However if someone gets these for a great deal and doesn't mind extra work involved to make them fit then by all means be my guest. At this point I believe most already know issues associated with these.

e the trans mount is useless. That's all I was kind of irritated about. And because of those couple with no fitment issues I was curious if he got lucky or not.

No i havent checked his car. I dont know its fact which is one of the reasons i use the word PROBABLY! I dont understand why the fuck anyone would buy an AUDI and then look for the cheapest POS pieces to put on it. There have been NUMEROUS reports of poor fitment and leaks happening. Yet people still spend the money just to figure it out or install a piece that doesnt fit or work properly. Save your money for a few extra months if needed and spend a little more on some Milltek or FI DP's. Something we know that works and doesnt have these issues. Theres a reason they are sold on EBAY and not a REPUTABLE DEALER! Shake your head all you want, but its the damn truth.

nice car. I'm also pretty new here but I never made an intro thread, I just started posting... lol i guess you have better forum etiquette than me, oh well. I've done a lot of work to my car in the year and a half that I've owned it but I feel lazy now looking at all the work you did in just 1 month! lol

the car looks great as it is, it'll be even more beautiful when you fix the plasti-dip and get a tow hook cover
