Anyone know what this thing is?
Was wiring my bluetooth mic today and noticed this little box with a button on it and blue flashing light. It has what looks like an antenna on top. I couldn't tell where the wire from the bottom goes.

If I was James Bond, I'd be worried my car was about to explode!!

Who can resist pushing a button on something with a little flashing light! Already pushed it and nothing happened, so I can rule out self destruct and heat seeking missiles...I was really hoping for heat seeking missiles :(

Seriously though, the flashing blue light is a little unnerving. Flashes even with ignition off....

remove the trim under the steering column and follow that wire. I really want to know what and where that leads too .

Some may think GPS, but why would a gps need a led indicator or pairing button. My money is on aftermarket bluetooth receiver, what head unit do you have?

Just installed an aftermarket HU, but it was originally a plain old Symphony II HU. The car was bone stock when I got it, it was purchased CPO by the previous owner and literally didn't have a single mod to the whole vehicle. So strange, checked the glove box for signs of any sort of bluetooth or other equipment install but nothing.

I'll try and explore more this weekend...

Three 8mm bolts will take the knee bolster off and you can see where it all goes. Looks like a GPS tracker/vehicle disable device if payments aren't made that was installed by a dealer.

When i sell my car, i am going to install the brightest blinking led under neath the steering column with a toggle switch that does nothing. Power it with the headlight switch and run wires up the A-pillar through over head trim to the box where the sirius module is.
At the end of the wire will be a fake rose.

Looks like the sprint booster controller. The pics on ECS look a little different (their light is on the button itself), but the only thing that resembles it. My other guess was kill switch for an alarm

So dealers use the engine kill now for non-payers? That's crazy, but smart!
