I would bet it is $24k+, easy. Once they get into it they will find more that needs to be fixed and/or replaced. Between body and electronics it will be a very expensive fix.

I've personally seen very similar damage to a 5 (plus busted rear and drivers quarter glass), and the bill ran about 10K. It would start though.

whatever estimate they have 99% of the time the car costs me 25% of their estimate. this car wont cross 5k in parts and thats blowing it out of proportion. electrical parts is whats typically very expensive, but as long as you have a donor car, you wont need the stealership for much parts if any. My black one that i repaired was in worst condition and only cost me around 5k in parts.

ya im hoping for the right price, id like to keep it but if only it had red interior :/.. Yes battery is in the back, could be that the fuse that cuts circuit to the battery blew, i thought it only happens when airbags blow, but i could be wrong.

I'm guessing a lot of the repair estimate is labor. No airbags deployed, but all electronics that are stored in the rear quarter panels will need to be replaced. The Bluetooth system was fried after the crash...I had a hard time talking with the 9-1-1 dispatch. Something else in the center stack was making noise the next day (see video posted on page 1), presumably the CD changer - but I was able to eject all six discs when I went back to clean it out.

As others have said, it sucks to see it like this. I wish I had the cash to pick it up, get it straightened out and make it a project car - see how well the S-tronic can handle the full complement of JHM bits and supercharger. That would be fun with my S6 as a DD! Alas, it's not in the cards for me...but I do hope to see it back on the road someday soon!

I snapped the control arm on my old B8 S4… It put me 20k down….. the first guy said 1500 and every person after gradually increased their estimate… Just not a good day.

I think that (hopefully) we can wrap this one up. I worked through more details with the insurance company, made them aware of the fact that they overlooked Audi Drive Select when pricing comps, and also informed them I've been speaking with an attorney who has advised me to allow them to reassess the value with this new information before resorting to litigation.

They called back today and came up a couple thousand dollars, which isn't exactly what I wanted but I'm satisfied enough to settle and not go through more hassle. Needless to say I won't be insuring my next car with them, but I'm moving on.

What insurance do you have so I can make sure I don't have them. During a traumatic time like that they want to play games over money, money that isn't even the adjuster's.
