I agree, one piece bumpers look much better if all other aspects are equal. The replica does look great from 5 feet and I was happy when I first received my replica until I really looked at it closely and then talked to a good body shop about finishing it for me.

When looking across the front of it, the shape/curvature of the front bumper is not even and would require masterful sanding ($$$) to make the overall finish look as good as an OEM bumper/sportec combo. Then you have the imperfections of the grill opening and the lower and inner edges at the wheel well opening that need considerable work to have the same fit/finish as OEM. After all of that is taken care of, there is not a great mounting solution to hold up the middle section of the bumper, one needs to be fabricated. I had my replica redone and paid a shop to make it good, but it still isn't perfect so that's why I also chose to use my authentic sportec front.

Sam, you may want to consider using the B7 Votex sideskirts, much easier to maintain, more secure mounting, and look almost exactly the same. I just replaced my Sportec sideskirts with Votex and am very happy with it.

I love my Votex side skirts. I wish they were a little bit lower than they are, but they are practical and look great. Also hard to come by these days from what i understand.

Yea the 1pc bumpers do look better and the kit looked absolutely amazing until I attempted to put it on the car. I will say that this is strongest most well constructed replica that I have ever seen, this GFK material that he used to make the rep is purely amazing.

The kit is a little rough and needed a proffessional to install(with several hours of work) it and correct the imperfections To me it simply boiled down to cost. The cost of the replica kit and the cost to get it to fit properly were more than what I could be the original kit for. So it was a simple decision in the end.

On a positive note the seller of the kit is a great person to deal with and extremely reliable.

Do you have any pics of your your kit with the Votex sides. I don't think those sides are low enough are they.

I don't have pics yet, I literally hauled the car from the body shop in Maryland back to United Motorsport in Connecticut to finish the motor work and tuning. I'll have the car back in a week or two so I can snap some photos then. But I looked at both off of the car and they look almost identical.

I agree the maker of the replica is a great guy to deal with.

Sam this picture should give you an idea of how low the sides come down. The front is an Oettinger rep and the back is an S4.

So yea. I definitely have a problem with B6 A4's . Just picked up another one. It's an 2004 Ultraport automatic (so that I wont mod it. Too much) It's going to replace my 2010 B8 A4.

Crazy I haven't even had the B8 for a year and I'm parting it out already

and....... I sold the '04 USP that was stock and I picked up this not stock '05 USP. Since this car is already pre-modded. I don't have much of a reason to mod.

Recaro stickers with non Recaro seats I assume that was previous owner.

Was that the usp that was for sale in the classifieds for a while for like $4k? Love your collection of B6s, I am envious.

Yea that's the one. It's gonna need a headgasket and probably a couple other small bits. Nothing that I can't tackle. For the price I couldn't turn it down. Once it's fixed I could easliy sale the car for $6500 or more ! This thing is in mint condition.

I'm guessing the PO had a Recaro car seat to go with that sticker. Nice pick up, you've got a lot of maintenance to do between all those Audis so get to it!

Ha ! Matt this will make me a nice daily if I keep it bwahahahaha. I happen to have the parts needed to fix the car so It's not a biggie. Put on a new head and it'll be as good as new. Again i say this car is in immaculate condition. The photos of this paint job do it no justice.

As much as I try, I just can't get myself to like the Sportec sideview of this body kit on the Avant.

So if anyone wants to trade for an Oettinger kit...... let me know.

the problem is that the sides are too busy with both sideskirts and the flared door blades. Given the choice between the two, I'd go with the skirts and flat blades, as it keeps the lines cleaner flowing from front to rear

I had the very same thought. Back in '08 I ran the full Sportec kit with my USP door blades. Switched to the flat blades in 09 and it made the entire package look better. The beauty of the Sportec is the subtle yet meaty lines.
