what engine swap would be better a vr6 or a 2.7t

so am debating an engine swap for my 02 audi 3.0 and I was talking to my mechanic and I was telling him that I wan it to do an engine swap and I was considering a 2.7t and he told me that a vr6 would be better and easier to work on and it would be more cost effective to mod. so my question is what is your opinion, vr6 or a 2.7t.

Stick with the 2.7T if you have the funds.

well hi was telling me i should stick with a vr6t bc is a single turbo setup i would have more room in the engine bay and is an engine that is more reliable than the 2.7t.

More reliable then an engine that was built to be turbo-charged? I don't think so...each has it's pro's and con's and it really becomes personal choice. Research them and pick which one you feel better with. I would hands down do 2.7T but hey, to each his own.

People been running single turbo setups on tbe 2.7 and still making gobs of power too. Vr6 is cheaper and easier to get and cheaper to build up.

You can get more power from a VR.. but it's going to cost more than the 2.7.. There are many parts you have to buy for the longitudinal VR that drive the cost up, oil pan, flywheel, adapter plate, engine management, intake manifold, exhaust manifold etc.. These parts are not requires for the 2.7 as you already have them. But as DiertyEuroSpec said it's really more of a personal preference.

2.7t all the way. The VR6 is a sweet engine, but with a single turbo setup it won't be as reliable as a 2.7t thats had a full once over before being shoehorned in.

Not to mention slapping 2.7t will be pretty damn easy considering you've already got the 3.0. Its about as plug and play as an engine swap can get...

Numerous people have attempted the VR, but the only B6 that I'm familiar with on here is Eurowrench.

I've considered the VR as well, but it seems like so much more fabrication needs to be done to pull it off.

2.7t; as many have already said, with you being a 3.0 should minimize the challenge.
