Trans in limp mode again, insight please

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So a few weeks ago, I replaced the F125 sensor after the trans went into limp mode. Today, at low speed while accelerating the trans went into limp. Ran vagcom and came up with the following

18032 - MIL Request Signal Active (Check TCM for errors too!)
    P1624 - 35-00 -
    Readiness: 0010 0001

How do I check the TCM? Sorry if this a stupid question, I searched some. I am a relative noob with VAG Com.

    Thanks

You can check the TCM by scanning the transmission. Should be next yo the engine Box on vcds

    18159 - Supply Voltage
    P1751 - 35-00 - too High

Any info on this? All the search results had multiple/issues as well.

And I am indeed an idiot. This code was up on the original list of codes I pulled, I just overlooked it somehow. If my trans is shot, I will do a 6 speed swap.

That looks minor. Clear it and see if it comes back.

Last night, I cleared the codes, went out of limp for a brief second. Pull out of parking space and immediately went back into limp. Same code came back. It is currently sitting accross the street from my friends house.

I went over today on my lunch break, car wouldn't start as the battery is very low on power. The batt symbol is lit up on the dash. The battery has less than 1000 miles on it and is less than a month and a half old.

I jumped the car after work this evening. Battery was dead enough that radio was in safe mode. Trans was in limp mode still. Odd occurence, once car was started, the entire dash blackd out for 45 seconds to a minute. Once car was started, it stayed running even after the jumper cables were disconnevted, and restarted on its own after i turned it off. Are all these issues connected?

So I talked to a local S4 friend of mine, and he suggested it may be a voltage regulator issue. So I got the car started over my lunch break today and put a voltage meter to the battery. At idle it was reading 13.1 and as I revved the engine slightly it crept up to just under 15. Looks like I will be swapping out an alternator over the weekend.

It appears that the voltage regulator was the issue. Swapping the alternator was not a big deal at all.
