    Thanks, e30.

It fits great in my garage (24'x24' floor space) and works great too. Here is an awesome install video I found on youtube. Lifting the center cross-member was very sketchy and I almost fell off the ladder LOL. They changed the cylinder design (plumbing) from the instructions and didn't send the correct size fittings for the new cylinder (also mentioned in the video btw), they got me the right ones a week later. The lift also came a little scratched up from poor packaging, but they sent me some touch-up paint. That was disappointing considering I was paying for American-made quality (or though I thought), but I am still happy with my purchase. If you don't have a rotary hammer drill, definitely buy one off amazon for drilling the holes in the concrete. Definitely worth the $100. Any questions, let me know. Can't wait for it to warm up a bit so I can get some motivation to get the car back on the road with the new 1-2 gear set!!!

and I need to replace the heater core, replace headliner, and build my spare motor with the bedplate, and and and ....... it never ends.

Thanks for the detailed response! I’m curious to see what your experience is with the new 1-2 gear set. One more question on the lift, does it give you a full 6 feet under the car once lifted? I’m pretty sure that’s what the specs say on the website at least.

How is the flex fuel tune working out? I live in S NJ and closest stations are the one by Atco and one in Philly. Would like to get a flex fuel tune since having 2 separate maps wouldn’t be ideal for me but not a lot of info out on it.
Been eyeing up an Ignitron for that reason

I'm 5'11" and I can walk under the car no problem with it up on the top locks.

Yeah, but just had knee surgery on 3/5 to fix my ACL after a snowboarding accident. I won't be doing anything car-related for a few months, unfortunately.

Flex fuel works great. It took a while to dial in just right. Of course once we get it dialed in, an E85 Wawa opens down the street. Don't think I'll ever put gas back in unless I'm on a long road trip.

If wawa down here started carrying E85 I’d be beyond good. That’s where I always try and get my fuel anyway, somehow it’s more consistent and does better than the local shell and they have brand new pumps, go figure.

Old trans is out. Time to rebuild the new one with the new 1-2 gearset and JHM rebuild kit. Pics to come of the process.

Got the trans torn down. Prepping for the new 1-2 gearset to go in. Excited to feel the new 2.8 1st gear and the 1-2 shift while staying in the power band.

I think the trans ratio mod is one of the most overlooked power and drivability mods on the S4 you can do! It seems to make such a difference having a shorter 1st gear especially with bigger turbos.

I've done 3 tranny drops using jack stands--there wont be a 4th--Getting too old for that shit.
I,m VERY envious of your work space--very nice---lift with a proper tranny lift---REAL NICE!
Look'n forward to following your progress.

Agreed, if you have turbo(s) that can make 700whp+. And 1st gear is longer in the new gearset (but I know you meant that).

That reminds me of 2017? when I did 3 trans drops in 2 months on jack stands due to clutch/FW issues. That was fun... Thanks man. There are some not so straight forward things that need to be done to make this gearset work. Definitely not a drop-in solution, but I'm working through the issues.

That wouldn't be possible, 1st and 2nd are machined into the input shaft.

Stock crank pulley/damper was getting scary looking, so... decided to upgrade. After a decent amount of research and back&forth with ATI, I found ATI P/N: 908167 works on our cars!!! I wouldn't get the P/N: 908168 since that has the timing gear integrated, which would be a pain...

Need to buy a special Torx PLUS TP-40 bit to tighten the flat head screws down. That shows up tomorrow and she will be back on the road, finally. Can't wait to try the new gears

Nice find! The ATI is popular on C5 Corvettes and that's what I put on my Z06. FYI this TP40 bit worked great for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This one is excellent, I have two of them and it's the best mount I've used to date.

Yeah, I'm very happy with the performance. I'm still getting used to the additional noise of the gear set... But, it has totally transformed the driving characteristics of the car in a very useable range. I would suggest this for anyone with turbos that come alive around 4k rpm or higher in 3rd gear.

Nice to see you still have this thing going, I love your dedication!

I have a 6 spd dog box going into my car shortly, very excited to see how it works with my setup. I went with Kalmar 6spd, long version.

Thanks man. It took a while to get the motivation to fix her this time. But, I am a tinker at heart, so I love tweaking the setup to make it better when things break. And once I'm driving again I forget all the reasons I get annoyed with the car.
Good choice on the gearset. Did you get the 26mm splined input shaft with your gearset? I may do a dog gearset someday. I just don't race it enough to justify it right now since I am so busy with life.

Great! Please post some pics of the gearset if you don't mind :)
Also curious about the noise level on a "higher quality" gearset. So if can comment on that for me I would really appreciate that.
AND, what clutch and disk you go with to mate to the t56 spline for educational purposes.

    Thank you, thank you!

    No problem

A shop that's local to me DriveSport.ca, (Peter is the owner) gave me a great deal on the dog box set. I'm curious to hear how it sounds too, I'll post a video once it's running in the car. I have a Tilton Twin Carbon/Carbon with a Clutchmasters FW and Clutch Masters HRB. The spline floats with the Tilton Carbon/Carbon so it was easy to swap the 01e spline to the t56 spline. Don't mind the pic with the 034 flywheel, it was never cut correctly and ended up being wrong for my clutch, thanks 034! Mike Hood was able to help me out with a flywheel and HRB. My build thread is below.

FYI, 5 years and about 20k miles later the Varex muffler still works great and I open/close the valve quite often (close near home/work, open when driving). FYI incase anyone was wondering... It's held up to AL launch control and NLS as well.
