Wow, that does suck. I'll have to go check my threads now. One thing I just found out, even though they don't show up embedded in the thread, if you right click the dead image and 'open in new tab,' it takes you to the image on photobucket. Rather than trying to re-host on a different site, I may go through old pictures and just leave that instruction to right click to see the pics.

In other news, I'm back at it. Took a but longer this time to find the motivation to throw her back together. But I'm happy to say she is back on the road. I have a feeling I'll be filling up with some E very shortly.

Your extremely vague question makes me think you have very little understanding (even from a high level) of what's needed to get this going. I could explain what I know, but without being able to code ME7, the hardware is useless. Do you have experience tuning/coding ME7?


In other news, my car keeps killing the gas filled timing belt tensioners. It's most likely related to high rpm and the higher spring rate valve springs, so I am going to make a manual tensioner. Manual tensioners are done used on the 1.8Ts for the same reason so I guess it's time to follow their lead. And it's easy to tell when I need to adjust the tensioner with vagcom.

It's too bad the 2.7T doesn't have the option of a spring-loaded-only tensioner setup that's now available on later 1.8T (06A) blocks.
Completely eliminates the hydraulic tensioner without going manual tensioner. Who knows, maybe there is an option that could be retrofitted to the 2.7T.

Ive been waiting to see how it was done because ive been talking tomy tuner about it and he thinks he would be able to do it just needs some guidence on the coding and how to get the ecu to read a digital signal

if he cannot write his own code then it's certainly not morally/ethically ok for him to steal someone else's.

There are many options for getting an ethanol sensor to output a 0-5v signal. It's the same as feeding your wideband back into the ECU so you can read it with ME7Logger. I am not trying to be a jerk, but this basic info that has been public knowledge for years. I would be very concerned that your tuner does not know this....

I am so glad that I did not buy a set of those and turned him down. That really sucks. Was the same spot that you fixed before?

Yeah, he made the walls paper than... There was probably some porosity from the casting process and then thinning the walls up so much created the leak path (hole). I tried fixing it several times using epoxy recommended by the engine builders on the speedtalk forums, but the delta from the thermal expansion of the aluminum vs. the epoxy must be too much and keeps causing it to crack...

Time to cut these cancerous parts out LOL.

Just as a heads up, after looking for a picture hosting place to replace photobucket for me, I chose Imgur. Easy to use tags like photobucket, can set photos to private, and a big enough site that they will hopefully be around forever. Now if I could find a macro or something to replace all of my photobucket links with a different link lol.

Ended up going with cubeupload for my image hosting needs. I am going to start transferring my photos...

Here are my new to me 2.8 heads, next I need to swap valve train, then back to the fun stuff!!!

Hoping to have the heads back from the machine shop next week. Also, I am re-plumbing my breather setup and my vacuum system. I also chopped the rear off my intake manifold to add clearance to the turbine housing. Hope to have some good progress updates next week sometime.

Car is back on the road with the freshly built 2.8 heads, I seem to have picked up a few hundred RPM of spool now that me pass head is no longer leaking!

Blow thru maf is just a pipe plug. I didn't remake that section of pipe when I switched to draw thru.

I'm still playing with the car on and off. I got her back on e85. Planning to see how she does against my 04 cbr1000 soon. That should be interesting. Maybe I can get to the drag strip on e85 this year....
