2009 or 2010 S5 help

Has Every option except lane assist, Advanced key and drive select.
Magma red interior Aluminum trim

2010 40k miles
Has navi, drive select.
No mem seats, no advanced key.
Black interior carbon trim


Both have more than year left of factor warranty.

Other than the 2G and 3G MMI difference are there any others between the 09 and 10?

Yes it does thanks no sarcasm.

This is a hard one for because I have never tested S5 with ADS. I really like the red interior but the ADS seems like a good package.Also the price diff between the two is only $2k.

Seeing that the 2010 is not a prestige, it has the sport rear differential, not drive select.

i personally would go for the 2009. the LED tails are nice, but i like the design of the 2008-9 non LEDS better. the continuous strip looks more classy than the dotted led tails.

3g MMI is def nice, but i would prefer the plain 2d birds eye view as it is easier to look at.

if the sports differential is a deal breaker for u, then i would say 2010.

agree on the tails. but imo, LEDs > non LEDs, regardless of design.

3G has 2d view setting as well.

Unfortunatly neither car has that option : (. So I'm looking at 1100 for dealer install in Long island. I'm also researching the practical use of both 2G and 3G MMI.

how do you scan the map without the center joystick on a 2g mmi?

in map, u center click. it brings up an option to move left right or down and up. sadly i only figured this out like 1/2 way through my ownership lol

If you plan on getting winter tires & rims...which you should...it makes changing tires a whole lot easier & less expnesive, as you don't have to purchase TPMS sensors for the wheels on the 2010 model.

Well apparently the estimate I got from the dealership was way off for the advanced key install :(.

My recommendation is to find a somewhat local Audi Dealer that has a few preowned S5s on the lot. They don't have to be a specific car you'd actually consider, but it would enable you to test drive and compare options like Nav, Drive Select, ect. Easy way to find out which options are truely a 'must have' or not.

2010: Better Resale Value (No One Mentioned This Yet)...Although it may be minor, if any, to buyers, your car is going to be appear one year newer vs a 2009.

As mentioned by other fellow AZ members. 3g is faster, smoother, crisp graphics (Nvidia i believe). Led Tails are awesome.

Carbon Trim is 100000000000000000000000000x better than the aluminum trim. If you see it in person, it will be a bigger deal than the Red Seats (I had the red seats myself, and I loooooove them), but Carbon is a MUST!!!

If the car really does have ADS: thing is like a $3,000 option. Don't sleep on it if its within your price range.

2010 with folding mirrors? Better make sure if it's auto or not. Cause all mirrors can fold? But auto is another thing ( only featured in 08)
