It entails replacing main parts of the front end with parts that weren't meant to be there. If you're replacing the fenders, or cutting and blending them, that entails major body work. The paint work would have to be top notch as well and even then its a huge blemish on history of the car. It would absolutely murder resale value, theres no doubt about it, any trade in would be absolute shit, because no dealer could sell it.

I would never buy a b6/7 frankenstein, and I'm an Audi enthusiast and if its done well I would appreciate the money and effort spent. But I still wouldn't touch it. Its possible you could convince some moron that its a b7 though...

just cause you change the front end of a vehicle doesnt mean the title is branded. if its done well some may not even tell that therre was a swap. where you would never buy a frankenstein, that doesnt mean other people wouldnt. i work at a gm dealership that sells around the world and i see the junk shit we trade in ALL the time. theres no doubt in my mind they wouldnt trade a b7 swapped b6 in

edit: ive read where a bunch of people dont like that front end. i dont mind it that much. i just dont like how the headlights are so far in. when you look at it from the side, you see the bumper sticking out more then the headlights. other than that, i dont thinks its horrible

It might sell in a private sale, similarly to how a heavily modified car would sell in a private sale.... but a dealer might not buy it or allow it for trade in (unless it was a collector/classic). Those vehicles are hard for them to move off their lot and they need to comb through it with their techs to put it in a condition to where they could sell it to your average Joe Blow buyer.

The car could sell, just not to a dealer; seems unlikely but not impossible I suppose.

I think people don't like it because it just doesn't flow with the rest of the car. The B7 works as a whole, the B6 works as a whole, the two don't really work well together with random bits and pieces.

hmm to each their own i guess. well in your opinion, with the b7 fender splice on the b6 what doesnt flow?

I don't think the front matches the rear of a B6. The wrap around rear tail lights flow so much better with the longer headlights and big mouth grille than our B6 tail lights.

I could see doing this kit as it's all bolt on and reversible if this is the look you want, just be sure to take off the RS badge. IF you get into a front end accident with the Hofele at least it's more easily repaired and won't involve additional custom body work that possibly may be an issue with insurance coverage (just guessing on this).

Even that does not look right.

The only person who imo did it right was adeelkhan323
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...on-Build-Diary

But to spend that much money on a body mod...
I agree with most, doing front only wont look right at all.
It is however everybody their own thing and taste, if you like it and think it looks the way you want go for it.
In the end its your car and you have to like the way it looks.
Any proper bodyshop can make it fit, might be able to do it yourself.

But the majority on here will be no fan of it, that's being established for a long time.

our dealer has bought early 80s trucks and put them on the lot for 6k lol. if they wanted the sale bad enough, they'd trade in and just send the car straight to auction. however when they do that, bet you wont be getting shit for your trade in.

Do whatever you want, haters gonna hate, some ppl are too affraid to go a different route than the rest. If he you are asking for a conversion, then that clearly says that you do not have the money to buy a b7. I have done it on my car. You will need a rad support, b7 fenders, hood, bumper, grille and little things here and there. Good luck on your conversion. And the best way to make it have a better flow is to cut and weld the fenders.

What exactly are you doing that's different? You are making your car look like a car that already exists; that's not exactly "different". Not to mention people aren't afraid of doing this, most of us have a thing called common sense and taste. There are options out there to make your B6 front end look better without hacking it apart and making it look like a car that it isn't.

Greedo hacking the Fender is a PITA trust me it has to be done very precise for the Headlamp and the Bumper to fit correctly. if its not, you will have a GAP either on the HL or the Bumper or at the very least the body line on the Fender will not line up with the rest of the car. I recommend that you first try to put B7 Fenders and see if the body line bothers you.

here is my post from my conversion.

Whats different? adding a b7 front end to b6 makes an upgrade of your car IMO, yes common sense, I forgot about that, I guess I dont have any of that, please share some with me. Next time if the op is asking how to do something such as front end conversion, then dont be MR COMMON SENSE TELLING OP , IF YOU WANT A B7, THEN BUY A B7. If he had the money to buy one, then he would not be wasting his time posting here, THAT IS COMMON SENSE IMO.

Personally, I wouldn't bother. Too much work, for pretty much zero gain. Reinventing the wheel is seldom the way to go.

Nothing to stop you building one to go with that awesome power plant you've put together.

Everyone said the same to me about the B6 RS4 saloon. In some ways I kinda wished I'd done an avant version...
