Installed a blend mount valentine 1 radar detector mirror mount and mirror power tap today.

Very straight forward but still haven’t taken the valentine 1 out of my truck to test.

They aren't on the car yet, but, got quite a bit of goodies in.

    - JHM solid short throw shifter
    - JHM solid shifter linkage
    - 034Motorsport transmission mount
    - 034Motorsport transmission mount insert
    - 034Motorsport solid adjustable rear swaybar

Waiting on a kit from sport shifters to install the shifter linkage and short throw.

I've got a bunch of goodies still waiting to go on the car, but I installed a few of them today. The first thing I did was the JHM "solid" shifter linkage kit. The difference in feel this kit makes is absolutely unreal. I mean truly. Not that it was ever dangerously vague, or that I didn't know where gears were, but, now I can feel every input when I am selecting gears. And this isn't even with the short-shifter kit installed yet.

I also installed 034MotorSport's billet aluminum transmission mount insert, and their Density Line transmission mount. This is a true "must have." Their site said that it may introduce some NVH. I will say, if I rest my hand on the gear level or hold it while sitting at a light, you feel some of the engines vibrations more. But nothing in your seat or steering. Plus I haven't let it fully break in yet. Both of these made my throttle response go from sluggish, at best, to better than my other car ('15 FR-S), which has amazing throttle response.

The transmission upgrades were about $110 together, and if I just did those it would probably have taken me only maybe 30-45 minutes at most to install. That includes getting the tools and putting the car on jack stands. The JHM shifter linkage, while expensive at around $395 I believe, it's completely worth every penny. This one is trickier to install, and might not be the best for a low-level DIY-er, unless they have some more experience. You'll also want a helping hand when adjusting the shifter linkage to make sure you have every gear and movement. It was tricky, but, I was able to get it installed without removing the transmission or any exhaust components.

Eight long hours of paint correction. Can't feel my arms, legs or face. But the paint looks good.

I learned a few things along the way. This was my first attempt ever at paint correction. The hood was the worst in terms of light scratches/watermarks and that took the most effort. Next time, going with a more aggressive pad and I'm going to buy some sort of large florescent light and do it with the garage door closed. I immediately ran errands in the car after I was done and couldn't stop staring while walking from and to the car, LOL. But thank you for the compliments! Trying to keep a daily driven car looking its best is a real challenge.

LOL I know, right? And I didn't even mention the hit to the bank account. I honestly didn't even price out a two step paint correction and wax. I have a feeling it'd be in the $400 range.

Today I krytoxed all of the trunk bump stops, both on the trunk lid as well as those on the trunk opening. I then readjusted the hood bump stops and added a dab of locktite blue to keep them from spinning down. Both are new and they still don't stay put.

Krytox is expensive but well worth it. It's the lubricant of the gods. No more squeaks from the trunk. Still have some small squeaks in the sunroof, will tackle those next.

I then installed a set of 034 Motorsports rear sway links.

Well, they do. The red doesn't even match the red in the emblem on the steering wheel. They almost have a pink hue to them. It becomes less obvious if you have magma interior, but with the black interior is just doesn't look right.

Well I can tell you, as the photo I posted is my car, that they actually look pretty great and coordinate with the red starter button and Misano paint. Guess you should have said “In my opinion.”

You sure it's not your screen? They look very nice in the photos I'm seeing, and I'm never really a fan of aluminum other than black or silver. They match well enough where I likely wouldn't complain, judging by the photos.

If you can't tell it's opinion without someone stating "in my opinion," you might just be too fragile. I'm sure it looks better when paired with a Misano car, or even magma interior.

Pretty sure it's not my screen, because I've seen these paddle extenders in person and noticed a color difference in person, too.

Ape, did I come across you earlier on IG? Ugly ass white truck with Texas plates parked over the line next to a perfectly parked Misano S5? Saw a really damn funny comment on the pic.

All love Haze! I'm of the opposite opinion - definitely would not do it with Magma. Even though it's not a perfect match to the emblems, it's enough of an accent that I like it. The first pic is mine and they are actually pretty red in person.

Maybe they clash with the beard? LOL

I'd probably get my beard caught in them.

By the way, Ape Factory, how did you even find paddles that properly fit for a 2013? Every time I look I can't find sets for 2013's since the paddles are ever-so-slightly different from 2014+. I've been wanting a set of carbon paddle extenders for a very long time, but am worried about fitment.

Wasn't me, I have an RS5. I have a very specific work parking spot where what you describe can't ever happen and I wouldn't call my parking immaculate ever :) But there are lots of ugly ass white trucks (or any other color for that matter) in my neck of the woods.

But honestly, the paddles actually look right at home. I took a long look after work and there are a number of red accents in the RS5 interior from HVAC labels, to interior lighting, to the shift knob, etc...Mine don't look pink but they do look anodized (which they are). Mine's garage kept and I do use a sun visor religiously but the sun will fade anodized parts. Will probably take a LONG time.

As for 2013's, AFIK, the paddles are all the same from 2013-2015 on the RS5's. Not sure on an S5 but I do know Pinalloy makes several versions and you just need to figure out which paddle shape you have. The RS5 paddles are used on several other models as well.

I always thought RS5 and S5 shared the same paddle, but I could be wrong. I'm guessing you ordered flat VS. curved from Pinalloy?

Let me look up my order just to double check.

    Edit: Yep flat S-type.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I'm going to reach out to that vendor and see if they've got confirmed fitments for a 2013 S5 since now I don't feel entirely sure about S5/RS5 paddles matching. I've been looking for paddle extenders that would fit correctly for a long time.
