    jibber, do you not log ti_b2 (fuel injector on time bank 2)? Just curious, as you only have ti_b1 listed in the logging standard.

    I log a bunch of different variables at different times, depending on what I'm looking at. The 'logging standard' that you see as "Mark P Variables" are literally the exact variables that people who use the Mark P excel templates (every excel-graph looking log you see posted) are logging. If you want to log ti_b2, just erase the semicolon in front of it in the config file.

    Generally speaking, the only difference between the two will be fuel trims.

    Having some connection issues. I have searched and read through the entire ME7Logger Thread on the NefMoto forums looking for an answer and come up short.

    The procedure in this thread was followed.
    Car: 2001.5 Audi S4 M Box. Unknown tune. NefMoto flasher connects and reads. Vag-Com connects and reads. Using the blue ebay cable w/ PTDI drivers installed.

    I created my own .bin with NefMoto flasher. I created the .ecu and .cfg files from this .bin. I have also attempted using one of the stock bins from the NefMoto forum with no luck.

    The error I am getting is "SWnumber Mismatch: Logging failed (Cause =0x4).

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I had the same problem, SWnumber is software number. The .bin I pulled off of Nefmoto's forums had a different SWnumber so I just requested for the specific .bin in a couple different forums (i.e. Nefmoto, chiptuners etc.) I think I ended up getting it off of Nefmoto. I have this program that is called Bosch ecu nr and it can tell you what software number your ECU is.

    The .bin that I am using is the actual dump from my ECU though. I used Nefmoto Flasher to read it. I don't understand how/why it would show different, when the .bin is my actual ECU that I'm trying to connect to.

    If anyone else is having the same problem. It turns out my config file was incorrect. Double check the ECU information in the config file is correct.

    How did you run the "Power" log in the example logs in your second post?

    I am all set up for logs and have ran some but not sure what you logged to achieve the full "Power" log.

    Thanks!

    It's one of the presets in ECUxPlot. You need to edit the constants though, which I haven't been able to figure out yet.

    I saw it as a preset but it says stock I'm pushing almost 400whp, so you just play around with the constants then until you get it right or is it something that isn't very accurate?

    As far as I can tell it's both. You can figure out RPM per MPH pretty easily. (Note your speed in 3rd gear at 2k RPM then divide 2k by that speed.) Not sure on the others. It's coming out way off for me. Showing my stage 2 as ~650whp. There's a little more info on it in Nyet's thread over on NefMoto, but I still haven't been able to get it to show realistic numbers.

    so it kinda looks like its showing about double (give or take) whp, a stage 2 should be pushing roughly 300hp right? depending on what tune, fueling, intercoolers etc.

    Have you dyno'd yours to see what your actually running to try and get ecuxplot to show roughly that number?

    Haven't dyno'd. Pax side snail is starting to sing a little. So once I go stage 3 I will probably get it dyno'd. I think stage 2 should probably be closer to 275-280 at the wheels, assuming just tune, exhaust, downpipes, low-mid ambient temps.

    Hi jibberjive,
    I'm retard with these things. I haven't logged ever and now I am taking first steps with this. Questions:
    -in my "logs" folder, there wasn't any .cfg file of same name than my 8D0907551C.bin file. There was "example_template.cfg" file that I opened with notepad and it had the variables.

    -but, it didn't have all those variables, it seems it is for 4-cylinder engine :
    ;dwkrz_0 ;{IgnitionRetardCyl1}
    ;dwkrz_1 ;{IgnitionRetardCyl4}
    ;dwkrz_2 ;{IgnitionRetardCyl2}
    ;dwkrz_3 ;{IgnitionRetardCyl3}
    ;dwkrz_4 ;{IgnitionRetardCyl0}
    ;dwkrz_5 ;{IgnitionRetardCyl0}

    -also, it didn't have these variables
    tats_w ;{EGTSensor}
    tats2_w ;{EGTSensorBank2}
    tabgm2 ;{EGTModelBeforeCatBank2}
    usvk ;{O2SVoltageSensor1}

    Lupe, use these steps (especially step 6, as you're missing the .cfg file that's created in step 6 from your ECU's .bin file):

    "3. Go to this thread and download the GUI attached to the first post. Place the GUI in the ME7logger folder. Make a shortcut for the GUI on your desktop:
    http://nefariousmotorsports.com/foru...c=1079.0title=

    4. Go to this subsection and download your stock .bin file (most of the S4 files are towards the end and posted by Tony@NefMoto). Place the .bin file in the ME7logger folder.
    http://nefariousmotorsports.com/foru...php?board=17.0
    M-box "002" file is located here for example (take note that there are two different m-box files, the "001" and the "002"): http://nefariousmotorsports.com/foru...ic=168.0title=

    5. Click on the GUI shortcut on your desktop. Click the "Create ECU File" button, and select the .bin file from step 4.

    6. Still in the GUI program, click the "Create Template File" button and navigate to the .bin file from step 4 again.

    7. In Windows (not in the GUI) navigate to the "logs" folder inside of the ME7logger folder and locate the .cfg file that was created in step 6 (it'll be the same name as your .bin file from step 4). Open the .cfg file in notepad and erase the ";" in front of the variables you want to log (see end of this post for the common variables in the regular "Mark P" excel graph templates that you see posted here). You can also change the "SamplesPerSecond" up at the top of that file as well. I'd probably put it at 20 samples/sec and leave it alone if it isn't giving you any connection issues when logging."

    odhinnhrafn: I used/did all those those steps. I got my .bin file here http://nyet.org/cars/files/stock/ . Then I created ECU file and selected that .bin file. Then I created Template file from the same .bin after that. But there is no 8D0907551C.cfg file in my "logs" folder.

    Where did I go wrong??

    Then you didn't properly create (or possibly properly save) a config file. Run the "ME7Info.exe" program from CMD prompt rather than through the GUI to try to create the file. Google CMD if you don't know how to do this, and refer to the README file in the ME7Logger folder to see how to run that program from CMD.

    Steps 5-9 come after 1-4. I'm not going to go through and do your reading for you so that I can tell you what to type. I've told you exactly where to go to find out what you need.

    Im having this issue, how can I check the ECU info in the .cfg fil is correct? 99% of the file is the log variables, there is only a couple lines at the top of the file regarding the ECU, and they all seem to be correct....

    Check and make sure that the named ecu .bin and swnumber match your .bin file.

    I was using a buddy of mines cable a while back when i ran logs on my own computer so i have all the proper software and everything to do it. anyways i bought my own cable and i cant seem to connect to it anymore. when i use vcds lite. i keep getting com port invalid or something along the lines of that. and same when i try to start to run a log on Me7 Logger. Any ideas? i beleive i installed the drivers for the new cable correctly. I am about to just start over with this new cable. also my cable did not come with a disk it came with a link to install im assuming what would have been on the disk

    Did you check that your settings in vcds match the port number for your cable? Hit Windows Key + Pause/Break. Open device manager. Check port number of cable. Make sure its set to the same in VCDS.

    It may be set to something other than 1-4. Seems to default to 5 alot. Might have to manually change it.

    Doesnt look like that seller offers the blue "409.1 FT232RL OBD2" cable anymore. I found this one, 409.1 w/ FT232RL chip, so I think it should work.

    Can anybody confirm? Total comes to like $15 w/ shipping for 1st link and like $12 for 2nd. Shipping times look to be super long.

    Since the biggest hangup with getting the ME7logger going is that sometimes the GUI doesn't always work when trying to create the .ecu file in step #5, I'll do a simple step-by-step of how to create the ECU file via command prompt instead of the GUI.

    ***In this example I assume you downloaded the ME7logger contents to a folder at "C:\ME7logger", and I assume your .bin file that you got from step #4 of my logging guide is named "Mbox.bin" and that you copied your Mbox.bin file into the folder at "C:\ME7logger\images". If you're having trouble getting it to work even after reading this, keep is simple and copy the ME7logger folder to the C drive and rename your files as above. If you do that, you should be able to type what I'm doing here word-for-word and have it work for you.

    1. Click Start menu, in the search bar type "cmd". Right click CMD above and select "run as administrator"

    2. Now at command prompt, type "cd\ME7logger" and hit enter. This gets you into the ME7logger folder

    3. Still at command prompt, type "bin\ME7info.exe images\Mbox.bin" and hit enter. Pay attention that there is a space in the middle of that. The first part is telling the ME7info.exe program to run, and the second part is telling the program to use your Mbox.bin file as the input.

    If you did it correctly and the program ran, it will say something like,

    read 1347 map entries
    mapped 198 aliases
    written 693 definitions
    written output to file C:\ME7logger\ecus\Mbox.ecu

    4. That's it. Go check in the ecu folder inside of the ME7logger folder to verify that there is now a file called "Mbox.ecu"

    5. Proceed to step #6 of my logging writeup.

    Ok I have managed to get this work. I've tried to search but haven't find answer to one question. My issue is: in ECUx plot I see negative values of ignition retard. I've never seen negative timing retard values when someone posts his logs. So, can I change it to show positive values or what is wrong?

    I haven't used the latest versions of ME7L and ECUxPlot, and the graphs from the first post are custom tweaked files that I changed to have positive values for timing retard. I'm not sure if the new versions of those programs do this automatically, but I think they might, as I haven't seen a whole lot of negative value plots posted, and I can't imagine everyone is hacking and customizing the logging config and .ecu files like I did.
