I've never done this before. I want a place to centralize the progression of my car. My car has gone through a bunch of changes. I feel like I have a bunch of pictures, but no real chronology. I will put it all here. Maybe somebody will enjoy looking through this, I think these stories are kind of fun. Anyway...
April 2011, I sold my '08 A5 and was looking for another A5. For about a week, I was pretty set on one located in the area until I got word that we were getting an '08 S5 in on trade for an R8. I work for Audi, by the way. I looked up invoice on the car and immediately called dibs. We did an in-house deal. The rest is history.
Specs on the car as of 2/29/12: 2008 S5, E-Codes, TSW Valencia 19x9.5, ST Coilovers, JHM "Solid Throw" short shifter. H&R 20 and 25mm spacers, AWE S Flo intake system, DMH Electric Cutouts, Mid X Pipe, 2500k fogs, LED Plate Housings, and 40% tint.
Factory options: 2008 Audi S5 with Ibis White exterior and Magma Red interior, 6MT, B&O, Navigation, CF Inlays, back up camera, parking sensors, keyless entry/start.

Day 1 with the car: April 2011. I got to work as soon as I got home. I had H&R 20/25mm spacers, an AWE S-Filter, and 2500k fogs from my old A5, so I installed them on my S5.

Tint: April 2011. 5% rears, 20% front passenger/driver, 50% windshield. I remember making the tint appointment for the day after I bought the car.

Wheels painted gunmetal: April 2011. I had this done a couple weeks after I got the car. One of my buddies around here as a B8 S4 with Rotiform MIA's in gunmetal and his car insired me to paint my wheels gunmetal. They did not come out as dark as I wanted them to. The color code was the same as the B7 A4 Ti pkg wheels. This shot was taken in front of the body shop who painted my wheels, they are contracted with my work.

H&R OE Springs: May 2011. After seeing how great lowered A5/S5's look, I decided to go with the H&R OE springs for an OE ride and moderate drop. Installation took my father and I about 4 hours to complete, each of us working on a side. We had to figure out a couple things on the way. These suspensions are beefy!

DMH Electric cutouts and mid X-pipe: May 2011. Before AWE's Touring exhaust, there weren't really any quality "drone-free" exhaust systems out there. I installed post primary cat electric cutout valves to have the best of both worlds in sound. I installed the mid x-pipe to have a bit louder stock exhaust note while the valves are closed. Cutout inspiration from Dan's S5.

JHM "Solid Throw" short shifter: May 2011. At the Audizine 10 year anniversary, I felt JHM's solid throw shifter in their RS4. I bought one, no questions asked. Installation took me about 2 hours. This was the first time I pulled apart my center console. It was a bit nerve racking, but just follow JHM's tutorial video. You will survive! Here are some installation pictures.

LED plate housings: June 2011. I replaced the OEM housings with one's full of LED's. Super bright!

Wheels painted in a darker matte gunmetal: July 2011. I wanted my wheels darker. As I stated before, they came out lighter than I wanted. This time they came out too dark! I didn't take any quality pictures of the car when it had these shade on the wheels. People would call my wheels black and I couldn't stand it. I was going for the color of Julian's CH-R's.

Wheels painted in a lighter gunmetal: August 2011. As stated before, the wheels came out took dark. This was the shade I was looking for!
