By that, Tibis means press the CD button again and 7-12 will show up. It counts as an external CD changer. That's the way my ipod adapter works and aside from my ipod occasionally going AWOL, I've had no issues...

    Step one:
Go to ipod on the iphone
    Step two:
    Selct all songs
    Step three:
    Put iphone on shuffle
    Step four:
    Plug it in
    Step five:
    Push 'CD' On the radio.

The stock radio sucks for the ipod interface, no track titles and no cd selection, it's just playlists.

I always ran it on shuffle untill I got a new deck.

Selling Nogoro blue Alcantara door panels. Will fit b6/b7 a4/s4/rs4. In great condition, originally wanted $600 shipped but dropped price to $500 shipped. Check my classifieds for pictures. I want these gone, will include extra door clips if requested. PM me if you want pictures of them installed or anything else I want these gone so make me an offer and we'll talk.

I got the Dension aftermarket one (car didn't come with it), so I can see track names in the display, but not the radio itself... which works fine until the giant gas/oil light comes on, since Audi decided we're not smart enough to realize there's a light on...

...then again, with the number of people I see who leave their turn signals on, it's no surprise...

playlists are as follows (if you have sirius, 6 cd, and SD cards

    cd 1-5 - your first 5 playlists
    cd 6 - all songs

(i don't know if you have a 6 cd changer AND an ipod but im assuming that cd's 7-11 are your first 5 playlists and cd 12 is all songs)

I only have the slot loading CD on the radio and not the 6 CD changer in the glove box... but I do have satellite I believe... it was in the car advertisement lol... but I prefer my NYC radio stations more anyway!

Thanks for all the tips guys.

Have you guys been able to successfully hook up an iPhone using the factory iPod connection? I can get my iPod, iPod touch, and even Nanos to connect, but the dock won't read my iPhone.

i had this problem and its because the iphones dont fit correctly in the ipod slot and im pretty sure there even to new to even work..hes saying iPHONES guys not ipod..and its only certain generation ipods that work. all the newer stuff isnt compatible...what you need to do is you need to order this little box thing mines called a blitz (sorry for me not knowing exactly what it is its been a while since i bought it i will try to get the exact site and name of it lol) you take the ipod adapter out of the glove box and this box bypasses it and allows you to use AuX. you can connect an aux cable...and then yes after your iphone is connected with aux you press the cd button till it says tracks 7-12 and it just plays in there

I saw somewhere a product like this:

    http://www.gizmag.com/scoshe-passpor...g-needs/10746/

Think monster made it, so that their old FM transmitters could use the Iphone, it converts it from 20 pin to 30 pin or what ever the case is.

edit: sorry by the looks of it thats to solve only charging issues not audio. boourns :(

I have an iPhone4 from Verizon I got on July 5th and it works perfectly as described.

I just followed the directions above and it worked like a charm! The only thing I don't like is that the glove box doesn't close with the iPhone4 plugged into the slot lol.... kind of a brain fart on Audi's part but I might just buy a cheap ipod then and keep it inside the car, plugged in at all times!

    Thanks again everyone

Straight cable worked for me, I didn't have the dock so I can't comment on that.

wait so your phone plays in the ipod connector? but the glove box doesnt close?..you also can only control it using the stereo which is sooooooo anoyying this piece i bought turns it to aux and you can control the music from the ipod its self bc the cord runs out of the glove box so you can also use your phone

Meh, iPhone 5 is coming soon. No risk, just a possible excuse to upgrade.

Make sure you have the plastic adapters that are Ipod model specific. I didn't have those for mine when i bought the car so when i plugged my Ipod classic in, it would bounce around on the adapter and eventually broke some pins. Went to the dealer and told them the Ipod adapter was broke so they replaced it under warranty and gave me the plastic inserts to properly install it.

And yes, the Iphone 4 will fit but good luck with closing your glove box. You could always get a dock connector extension cable, hook it up to the Ipod adapter and run it into the main compartment of the glove box so it doesn't interfere with closing the door. I found one on Amazon:

If you slowly close the glovebox with the iphone 3 plastic adapter, it will close and work with the iphone 4. Once you have made contact just press until it clicks. I do it all the time.
