    No offense, but why are times that much slower than some KO4 setups? I would think with 500+whp you would be hitting very low 11's and high 120 traps. Is it the tunning that is holding the car back right now? Something just doesnt sit right in my mind. I am new to the territory but I have had other project cars like a 335i and with just bolt ons I was running mid 120's and mid 11's. I am also going the route of the TIal 605's with all supporting mods. Sorry for coming into your thread like this, don't take it as an attack on anything you have done, I was just following ur thread and I was just wondering since you seem to have a good amount of info.

    It's pretty simple... I'm not making 500+whp... I'm guesstimating around 450whp...

    As for so much slower, there are a few K04 cars in the 11's... but they're usually on race gas and/or on a very aggressive tune where the turbos are @ 25-26psi, which is a little much for their little snails.

    The tune I ran is my DD tune, I can beat on my car all day long and it wouldn't blow up... it's still on the conservative side, and I'm not running more then WG pressure as far as boost goes (so at the track, 23-24psi max)

    Also note, the Left lane yesterday was reading 3-4 MPH slower... so that actually would put me around high 120's, 121 MPH for my 11.9.

    Very very nice.. I think "that" ALS really does work, no smoke and mirrors here (like other attempts at LC on this platform). Are you just dumping the clutch, or slip and then dump?

    Just dump... I tried to slip my clutch as I was practicing launching the night before... the one time I tried to slip it I just smoked the clutch... so I said F that, I'll just dump it.

    That said, yes ALS works and it works very well... All of my runs were 1.68-1.67 60's.

    Yeah I told myself I would not get into this world with my S4..

    With my A4 I started looking at ECU stuff with WINOLS and eventually went stand alone (VEMS). I told myself I would just go the cookie cutter route, but the ALS has definitely sold me, plus i have other issues with my tune that are frustrating me.

    Yea thats why I thought something was off and I would believe that lane was reading slow, cause even with 450whp and a conservative tune you would be mid 120's. Did you do any weight reduction on the car or everything is stock? Would the max level on these turbos with no meth be around 525-550? I saw one guy tunning to 525 but I wasn't sure if that was super aggressive or not with these turbos. I am just trying to get a handle on the info before I make my decision on which route. Do you see any lag with your setup? Also what clutch are you using? Please excuse me if you answered these questions anywhere else within the thread.

    People need to realize and understand that 95% of 93 octane K04 cars run in the mid 12s @ mid teens. For some reason people think all street gas K04 cars*can run 11s, most do not.

    The few 11 sec runs you've seen were a result of race fuel, weight reduction, open dumps, or other tweaks. Very few roles roll off the street and run 11s.

    11.9x @ 120.x for a full weight 605 car on 93 oct @ 23 psi is good. AFAIK it's the fastest 605 time.

    I never said all that. Just me personally when I go to the track with any car, its maxed out with any weight reduction I can do, race gas or just a more agressive boosting map. SO I just assumed he was running way more power than 450 which was my mistake to make an assumption. And everyone likes something different, me, I am going to strip this car with race buckets and run the tial 605's on an aggressive map and spray some meth for security reasons without tunning for it. But thats me, and I am only going to drive it 2-3 times a week, defnitely not my DD, want to be able to hang with the lambos, ferraris, p-cars on the Sunday morning runs.

    No weight reduction at all.. Took out the spare and jack, but added a 12" sub/box, amp and other electronic goodies... so meh...

    No meth on pump I would say 440-450whp would be around max... all depends on what you're comfortable with and how your motor reacts and how good your local fuel is.

    525 is a well sorted, setup car... he's using all the right parts... the 605's will be near their end though @ that level. If you're looking for more in the future you might want to consider the R770's from TiAL.

    Lag? that's an open question, compared to K03's sure full boost onset is later but I like the way the car responds and there are still ways to bring on the boost faster as well... I'm running a stg 4 or something Southbend...

    Nice, that setup must be a breeze to drive. Gets me excited about my build.

    Do the R770's need some custom fabrication? Any DP's will work with them?

    R770's are again a bolt on kit... but the hot side housing a I believe a DSM style divided... so you cannot use stock KKK downpipes.

    More and more I wish I hadn't bought a Stage III K04 car and had found a perfectly stock B5S4 Avant to build with Tials. Rondal did it right, I did it wrong. HAHA.

    That's him in the left lane, and that's me in the right lane. My 60' was 2.1 seconds to his 1.6, so had I launched it hard I would have been well into the 12s. He was pulling HARD on me though. If I find my in-car video I'll post it up for you all to see.

    My car was leaving a plume of black smoke... looks like it's running a bit rich!

    Congrats Notorious... Good driving you did there. I've practice the 1/4 mile at the track the day before the turbo blew. I can tell you that it's not the kind of thing that you got it the first time.. hein? I still need more practicing. Way to go man!

    As for the 1/4 mile I think those are awesome results. Seems like people forget most lambo's are in the high 11's, they think you should be a 9sec. car or something. Anyways, nice times.

    There is a guy who makes an interface that allows you to use multifunction wheels to control your carPC... that is what I will be doing.

    I actually already have the unit here for that
