Anyone ever figure out how to get the battery meter working on a 2013?

On pre-facelift, it's on the third screen of the Car menu. I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over this feature. Mine never reads anything but 100% making it a bit useless.

I guess it might come in handy in a few years when the OE battery starts getting weak, but there'll likely be other clues that the battery is failing.

Just curious as the fix might lead to other more interesting things in the 2013s (such as the newly required bus settings for the interior lights).

What is this supposed to do?

I tried it on my 2013 with Advanced Key and nothing changed. It still beeps when I open the door and warns me to shut the ignition off before leaving the car. I'm guessing that's a different message to disable that hasn't been discovered yet.

This is the one driving me nuts, someone figure this out for the 2013 and they'll be my hero. Jump out of the car to get mail or for other stuff and it drives everyone nuts....

I also couldn't get the seatbelt ebrake fix working either. At least you can just push the brake pedal, even without a seatbelt on and it will dissengage when you push it down.

Until you 2013 guys figure it out, most of the nag warnings in the DIS can be cleared/shut up by hitting the reset button under the right stalk. It becomes second nature after a while....

Seriously, you need to get a VCDS cable and software from www.ross-tech.com, and then read through this thread and you'll be good to go.

Someone mention that you can actually put ANY picture (800x480) as start-up screen on the MMI 3G/3G plus. Wonder how that's possible. I was only able to change it to whatever they had in the system.

Change MMI 3G splashscreen...

Enable through the "hidden menu":
- navigate to 'car/carcodingvehicle'
- choose the model of choice in 'configuration line'
- select 'Update Splashscreen'
- restart MMI

Yeah, The Hidden Menu is undocumented, so unless someone (or your self) has found a useful feature, I thing it is better not to change anything - that isn't self-descriptive. And if you change any setup, then write the change down, so that you can reverse it again.

For the new 2013 MY, could someone confirm which buttons to press on the console to access the hidden menu? Is it hold the NAV and TEL buttons and to reset: NAV, TEL and center button? I have already vagcom'd and enabled it.

To reset (reboot) the MMI in the 2013 you press Menu, the joystick button, and the upper right softkey at the same time. (This is in the manual for the 2013, surprisingly.)

To enter the hidden menu you press and hold Menu and Car for roughly 5 seconds. This will only work once you have made the changes in VCDS AND rebooted your MMI.

I'm sure it is possible, but no one has figured it out yet. I've been searching for that too. They come on very early IMO.

Any way to keep the DRLs on when the parking brake is on.....it just looks too cool to be off when I'm parked and engine is running for a bit.

If in your experimenting you can find any of the following, I would be most grateful!

1. Increase maximum speed limit on electric folding wing mirrors. Mine will not fold if the car is doing more than 10mph
2. Disable engine switch off when drivers door is opened and seatbelt un-done.

Both are very annoying!

Im brand new at this. just got my 2013 car. You said in order to access the hidden menu , press and hold menu and car for 5 seconds. I get that but how do I make changes to vcds and what is vcds?? Sorry Again im brand new at this. And will this work for a 2013 a4 with the face lift?

You will get grilled if you don't search before asking questions. Read through this thread. It will take you 20 minutes.

Then Buy this cable:

Then Download the software from there site.

You can change all sorts of programmed features with the cable. You have to enable the menu within the Vag come software before being able to turn it on.

Not sure if 2 is solved by disabling the seat belt check that's already documented. My MY2010 car doesn't act any differently whether the door is open/closed or the seatbelt on and off. I did the "ignore seat belt check" as it's a pain when just shunting the car around on my drive.

Unfortunately not, I have disabled the seat belt warning, but the engine still switches off if door is opened and seatbelt not in. Damn health and saftey gone mad!!

Auxiliary ventilation didn't work on my 2013 S4. I couldn't get the seat belt parking brake mod to work either. It said the security code was wrong.

The remote / window & sunroof mod works along with a lot of other lighting related mods, lap timer, etc.

This may be common knowledge now, but ... I have aux vent working on my '13 S5.

Followed instructions here on the 1st page (or audienthusiasts.com), but had to add the step I've seen references to ... set carbus to Can Komfort...

Yes, after each timed run the timer is reset, and need to be reconfigured again - that's also what the Owners Manual says.

No one know what the digits stand for - other then that 5 will give you the ability to change the menu while driving.

Battery meter doesn't work anymore - or no one has yet found the correct coding. And it is the same in MMI 4G (the MMI in A6/A7/A8 and the new A3)

You are basically unchecking the checkbox that sais north american vehicles, something along those lines. Oh, and you do have a VAG-COM cable, right? Just want to make sure. check the stickie, it has everything you'll need:
