Does anyone have specific/bang on numbers that should be set for the maintenance interval resets SRI in VAGCOM. I see where the screens are and have reset them, but both oil and service interval get set to 10k. I want to verify the service interval should be every 10k by default (I forget what it was on the last time the dealer did it) and I definitely want to change my oil one to 5k intervals. Do you have to do this each and every time you reset or can they be set once in terms of values and then when you issue a reset they reset those values counts back properly?

    Hey Team.

I tried searching "non-nav" and "non-mmi" but nothing relevant came up, so I have a quick question.

I've already enabled TPMS in my B8 S4 with Nav and it saved my ass over the weekend, but my friend would like to do the same on his 2010 S4. The issue is he doesn't have Nav, so I assume that means no MMI.

Can he enable TPMS? If so, does he use the non-MMI coding:
    MMI basic (non-MMI - 2G) (symphony/concert radio):
    [56 - Radio]
    [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 8 Bit 6 0 to 1
    Thanks!

    Hey guys,

I just want to throw some gasoline and a match onto this thread and tell you this:

If you code your control modules (doing these mods) and an electrical module fails in any way, then it will NOT be covered by any warranty, Audi or aftermarket. I spoke with the manager of my local Audi service center and they said they they can, will, and have denied warranty claims for this situation. Audi will deny the claim as well when it is submitted to them.

They also told me expressly that if a car is brought in with VAG com mods and hooked up to their computer diagnostic that it is then (not sure about the past) marked with a code (like TD1 for tune) in the Audi computer system and any dealer you go to will know that your car has had modified control units in the past.

What a dealer or service center does with this info is up to them, but they are logging it.

    ___________________________

I know many of you have had different experiences and will call me crazy or retarded for posting this (flamesuit on) but the thing to remember here is YMMV and all dealers are different, but I think the best policy is to communicate with your dealer before doing these mods to avoid a problem. they cant flag your car for something you haven't done yet.

I think it depends on the dealer. I gave my dealer the list of mods when I had it in for service. For instance you will get a aux. heater error message if you enabled aux. ventilation. My dealer in Minneapolis didn't seem to have any problems with this. It seems odd that they could deny a warranty claim for changing a setting on the car. You are not changing any equipment but only altering settings.
I guess a dealer can deny anything they want but if they do I think the "enthusiasts" will find another dealer or another make of automobile.

I believe this is only true for the Tunes. I have made many changes with my VAG-Com and my dealers hasn't said one word and they know I've been doing it as we talked about the different settings.

I did not have any issues with my changes. I let them know before hand and the service guy did not think anything they were doing (25K service along with airbag recall) would revert my settings to stock. Heck, they even asked if I turned the "annoying wink" off. Service and recall performed and all my settings remained where they were.

To go a bit further, I even asked about an intake and exhaust and possible TD1. My service guy stated they would not TD1 me for that. The ONLY thing they would TD1 would be something they can't control. When they plug into the ECM, it automatically scans and throws the TD1 code if software has been added. This is automatic and nothing he/they can do about it. However, if they software is not there (even though a pulley might be) the TD1 will not be logged... and they will not "manually" code it. Hope that makes sense.

So, comfort settings are not a thing at my dealership.

Is there a way to disable the fog lights when unlocking the car? So it's just the DRLs?

I was able to turn off the fog lights from coming on with the coming home feature. I will have to go back and see what I did for that. I had to do it via Vagcom, but I kinda just stumbled onto it.

    edit, here it is:
[09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 6 >> Bit 5, uncheck it. (It says something about the fog lights)

if you look at post 688, I took a screenshot of the page. Hopefully it works for the B8.5 also.

Yes, under coming home lights feature, you can select or unselect any set of lights you want for this.

Where do you edit this? I only see the option to adjust the time in the MMI.

Does anybody know the security code for the Parking Brake module? VCDS doesn't show me a balloon with the code? This is the code I am trying to change:

Enable Release Parking Brake without putting seatbelt
    [53 - Parking Brake][Security Access - 16] (Enter code presented by program)
    [Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 7 Set to 0
    ________________________________________

I can also change it via adaptation, but I need a Shop code for that too.

Question about Bit 3 in this list:

    Enable DRL
    [09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 2
Bit 1 = DRL via Front Side markers
Bit 2 = DRL via High Beams
Bit 3 = DRL via Fogs
Bit 4 = DRL via LEDs
Bit 6 = DRL via Side markers
Bit 7 = DRL via Tail lights
Does that mean that the fog lights come on with the LED DRLs or instead of the LED DRLs? I want my fogs to come on when I start the car with the headlight LEDs. Is this how I'd do it?

The original post states Disable side marker as well we disable amber lights. I know this doesn't apply to the S4 but for the SQ5 the rear side marker lights stay on regardless of activation/deactivation of the front amber lights? I've gone through all the obvious coding and can't seem to figure out how to turn off the rear side markers in the bumper light assembly. Any guidance is appreciated.

Quick question, for those without sports diff and ADS, now I have activated the comfort, dynamic, auto, and individual choices through vagcom and they appear on my MMI basically like ADS lite. Now my question is for the individual mode. My screen does not show the option to set each individual engine, steering, throttle, etc. setting. Does anyone know how to activate that? For those with ADS it's the icon in the bottom right that says "Set Individual".

I can't speak on the B8.5 MMI since my only experience is with my B8 MMI, but for whatever it's worth my MMI does not show me an "Individual" mode option anywhere, and in fact I do not have the ability to select one global button, let's say "Auto" mode, and have it change both the engine and steering to "auto" mode. Instead, I have to toggle the Engine and Steering modes independently. This is actually how I prefer it, and I believe there was coding within VCDS to allow me to configure it this way (as well as coding to allow me to tie the settings together). But I believe the way I have mine is inherently "Individual" mode.

    Hey guys,

How do I access these VAGCom codes? I google it and search on here and it is just lists of codes.

How does a beginner proceed? Do I need to purchase hardware, cables, etc?

    Hey guys.

I am going to try some coding today, I have a 2011 sports diff and non nav.

What are some of the top codes you recommend?
    I like so far:
    No wink signal
Maybe adjust so DRL are brighter or on more , recommendation?
    Needle sweeps
Turn off noise for door open and lights on.

Not sure what else. Can it force my car to start in dynamic each time?
Anything else for light in, clusters, or media settings worth doing?

    Thank you

    Most useful I've done
    - disable annoying alarms/warning messages
    - enable right mirror down while backing up
    - window roll down/up with fob
    - oil temp display within lap timer
    - enable front/rear DRL all the time
    - changing ADS default mode + removing certain modes/options (not sure of B8 capability)
    - disable amber corners
    - always show gear for DSG

There's probably some more I'm forgetting about. Changing DRL brightness only affects how bright they are once the headlights come on.

    - changing ADS default mode + removing certain modes/options (not sure of B8 capability)
    - disable amber corners
    - always show gear for DSG

There's probably some more I'm forgetting about. Changing DRL brightness only affects how bright they are once the headlights come on.
My side mirrors fold depending on which side the adjustment knob is turned. However, i don't think that the key fob open/close is operating.
Is it a 2013 v. 2014 thing -- or did the dealer selectively change some codes?

This is a standard thing in the 2014. Turn the side view mirror selector to the furthest right option (the one you'd move it to to move the passenger side mirror). When the car is in reverse move the mirror to where you want it. When the car is in drive it will automatically go back to its last setting.

So am I missing something... Do I need the vcds to activate the hidden menu first before I can use the MMI to turn on the key fob windows down?

    Awesome, thanks.

I'm just going to have a local guy work with me from his cord. So I want to be prepared with my codes.

I got some work done today, but lots of codes wouldn't take. the guy says he has done almost a car a week since buying his ross tech.

    These codes wouldn't work for 2011 S4 6MT Sports-Diff, Non-Nav:
    -Hidden Menu
    -Battery gauge
    -Ambient light
-windows down with unlock (windows up works)
-Lights are on warning for position 3, normal day lights

Non Nav might have something to do with it.

Did you enable the windows through the MMI? there will be a new menu for windows convience or something like that. You need to tell the car which windows you want to open (front, back, sunroof)

I didn't see the menu. The guy I worked with seemed quite knowledgable with the coding, but came up short on a few.

the one I forgot to print out was running the ebrake without the brake depressed! was a big one for me.

Has anyone on this forum been successful with these codes on B8 Non-Nav?

Hidden menu should be the only one that wont work on a non-nav model.

I've been reading all the cool stuff that you can do with all these codes. I am a new s4 owner it's a 2011.. And was mainly wondering how to even start messing with these options. Some one point in the right direction.
