It doesn't fit perfectly but there is less gap at the edges than my stock grille, that will continue to puzzle me. Either way the driver side grille snapped in perfectly, the passenger side grille is the one I had a slight issue with. The clips at the bottom snapped in with some force but the one at the top left wouldn't hold, I used a little piece of 3M 2-sided tape on the top left corner and pushed on it till it seemed secure. Please note that my Audi's RHD.

There is a really small gap on the outer corners between the grille and bumper but its negligible. I'm happy with the fit, used 2 side tape on both the grilles to be on the safe side. I've lost a fog grille before, it wasn't pretty.

    Hope it helps.
They don't hold perfectly because they haven't snapped into place yet. You really have to bang on them hard with your fist to snap them into place, you'll hear a "click" sound. I took mine off 3 or 4 times to get to my fog lights (experimented with bulbs). As someone already said people are having problems because they don't take their time to inspect and research how to put them back correctly.

I tried all the pushing , banging possible. They'd snap in and then snap out, tried for a good 20 mins then gave up. Got the other side to go in good so im guessing i know how to get it right but fitment maybe an issue. Will try again on my way to work, see if its possible to really get them them to hold.

    Regards,

Have them in my trunk today - hoping to give this a shot in the parking garage after lunch today. Think I'm going to try going through the wheel well for a tighter fit and comfort knowing all the clips have snapped in.

Just did the same as fre2bpowerless...kept snapping in and out and couldn't get them to snap in secure enough to feel comfortable.

May go buy double sided tape or try more tomorrow - doesn't seem they are even close to fitting to be honest and I was able to put the stock ones in and out no problem...

Just take the chrome ring off from behind and get some glossy black spray paint.
I did about 5-6 coats of it then when it dried, put the ring back on and install.
I used Rustoleum, not sure if you have that in the UK.

Buy a good brand like 3m or similar, it wont hold otherwise. Try a big piece of tape on the top of the grille that works best.

Nobody on this thread wants to convert their non-S-Line fog grilles to look like S-Line ?
Far cleaner, no vertical blades, 2 rather than 3 horizontal blades, etc.

Only took about 75 hours per grille, purchasing S-Line fog grilles (for the horizontal blades), and the A5 fog light trims and painting them Quartz Grey.
BTW, have removed the fog grilles, from the front, at least 8 times per grille, without problems.

Kept pushing at an angle and heard a couple extra clicks and they feel more snug. Just for comfort is this the 3M tape folks use? http://www.amazon.com/3M-Company-Mol...2021292&sr=8-1

Yup thats it, I couldn't find that one so I used another 3M tape but my license plates are held on by those for over a year now.

What modifications (aside from painting) did you have to do to the S-Line grilles to make them fit a non-S-line bumper?

I like the look of them for sure...what all did this take? Was it making the s line ones so they fit, or did you do it to your stock ones? Thanks!

S-Lines will NOT fit - openings are completely different shape.
    Some in process pics:

These should give you an idea of why 75+ hours of work.

These look like they are still available. I bought mine from this seller. Actually, one of mine arrived with one broken tab and he even sent me a free replacement. However, I understand it has been a hit or miss with the ability to snap them in.

Mine definitley would not, even with all of the tabs attached. But if you just tape them in (top and bottom with 3m body trim tape), at least mine have held in perfect.

By the way, I first tried the A5 fog rings , glued on but did not like them as for they were not a perfect fit.

I got my A4L grilles off ebay. They needed to be cleaned up a bit & sanded with mild grit sandpaper. The drivers side still needs a little work to fit better. I am going to paint them gloss black to match the center grille.

Again, I bought mine a while back on e-bay from this seller:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUDI-A4-B8-A...06959468518624

One had broken tabs and he did send me a replacement. Its a hit and miss fitinment on the tabs. I've even heard some say their originals fell out. So just attach with 3m moulding tape like holds on a spoiler. This seller also owns a A4 B8 himself so he is cool to deal with.

Do you have a link to the 3M molding tape? I've had my left one disconnecting from one of the tabs about once a week and I don't want to lose it!

I would like to add that if you are having to use 3M tape to hold your grilles on, then you are doing something wrong. Mine are on so tight and snug. Take an extra minute or two and clean your tabs. Then push your grille from outside to inside at the top and bottom. You will hear 4 clicks. Then try pulling them off. If they are connected they wont move and they will be flush with the bumper. The only way to remove them should be with a flathead screw driver. It is used to pull the tabs down and release the grille. Good luck!
