Can I not just buy A4 Chrome fog rings if i already have a S-Line bumper???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Was doing some searching last night & seemed like the options are limited here... I'm stunned that if I already have the Sline package... i can't buy the chrome rings??? My car has the titanium package so mine are a glossy black... I prefer the chrome ring... I'm happy with front grill, just wish i had the chrome rings for the fogs...This just seems like an easy fix... am i ready that wrong???

I came from a bmw.. the bmw guys can go look up any part with ease at http://realoem.com/bmw/select.do do we have anything similar?

I believe these should be a direct swap.

Those P/N's are for the A5 chrome rings, which many here have 'attached' to their non-S-Line fog grilles.
They are NOT a 'direct swap' onto S-Line fog grilles - they are differently shaped and will not fit S-Line.
See pic, S-Line rings on left, A5 rings on right

Long ago I 'converted' my non-S-Line fog grilles to S-Line look

Thus I'm intimately familiar with the differences.
I've never seen a P/N for the S-Line chrome rings, however, I don't have ETKA.
    Cheers

P/N codes : if first two digits are 8K part is for A4. If first two digits are 8T part is for A5.

OP, I have one S-Line chrome ring, left side - PM me if you want.

ECSTuning - from my experience, not a reliable source of actual pics of parts nor P/Ns - and overpriced, when compared to other sources.
S-Line fog grilles (from which you can extract, with care, the chrome fog light trim) can be had for approx. $45 each.

Meh, it's not the picture that's important. It's the part #
    www.genuinevwaudiparts.com has them for $46 a piece.

Maybe find someone who is willing to swap them with you?

I'd probably swap you mine, but me being in Europe will defeat the purpose, plus I really don't want to drive around grill-less.

You cannot buy the rings separately - that's the way it is.

So, instead of buying the A4L grills, I could simply retrofit these chrome rings? When you say "attached", do you mean that they have to be glued or something?

Yes you can attempt to glue them.
But the fit is not 100% and you have to be willing to roll-up your sleeves.
For the extra $40 to buy the A4L grilles, it was worth it to me.

100% agreed...much better way to go. I've seen them on all of the A4's in Shanghai and they look good.

    #1SteelerFan,

Have you thought about purchasing the standard S-Line grilles, and selling your TI S-Line ones?

I am sure you will be able to get rid of them pretty quick to recoup some of the cost?

I am sure you will be able to find an S-Line bumper owner who fears chrome pretty easily.
