    I can't find a picture unfortunately. I wonder if that was a mod that the owner had made.

    Well shit. Maybe you need a resistor somewhere in the circuit? I don't know.

    Thanks for trying though.

    They're pretty much the same price on ebay. At least the error canceling ones are... There's various different ones

    Either way, I'd love to see a picture! Either before-after or with just one bulb changed.

    This is my first post (ever) guys, so be gentle.
    I've tried the iJDMToy "Error Free" bulbs with no luck. I tried rotating the bulbs in case polarity was an issue, and followed all of their troubleshooting advice, but to no avail.
    I've ordered a set of Lumens 194CW 9-LED 194/921 Bulbs from CARid which are also supposed to be error-free. I was guaranteed a hassle-free return by my sales associate if they don't work, so I'll let you know how it goes...

    EDIT 2/28/13: No luck with the above stated Lumens bulbs, either. The brightness and color are both great, but the errors still come up once you drop into reverse. I have now ordered a set of V-LEDs 8W 921 Reverse Lights. I'm very familiar with the color and brightness of V-LEDs and I'm hoping that 8W will be enough draw to overcome the bulb-out warnings. If not, I may try to wire in some 1W or 2W resistors just so I can keep them without the errors. Otherwise, the search will continue...

    I have disabled the reverse light bulb error check with VAGCOM. Now running LED bulbs without any issue.

    Here are the steps:
    Module 46 Central Convenience > Security Access 16 > 16017
    Adaption 10 > Channel 181 > Convert your decimal number to binary (for example my default number in decimal is 65535, converted to binary = 1111111111111111), then change bit 10 and 11 from 1 to 0 (my new binary value becomes 1111001111111111, which is 62463 in decimal) > Enter the new binary value > Test > Save

    WOW! You figured out a way to disable it! Thank you im def gonna try this out tonight. Do you know if this just disables the reverse bulbs or does it disable the bulb out warning for all the bulbs on the car?

    Does this disable "ONLY" the reverse bulb out warning or "ALL" bulb out warnings? Example, if you were to change the front fog lights to LED and change the coding, would it disable the warning?

    Does anyone have a picture when they have installed a resistor or know between wich cabels you should install your resistors.

    I have an 2014 ALLROAD with LED rear lights.... only the reverse bulb is halogen, that I've tried to replace with a 5W LED bulb (w16W,w5w,T15,T10) but I've got a bulb out warning in the display =/

    And I dont have access to VAGCOM... and the local Audi dealer will reset the coding if my car is in for a service. So I would like to install resistors.

    Ideas?

    Between 4 and 5 I think I should put the resistor.

    The left side it's a 5W LED only with lens straight back.

    Checked out my tails and it looks like the housing is different on the facelift 4's. Anyone have suggestions? I'm not really excited about unscrewing things at random All I see are some bolts + nuts that appear to mount the tail lights and one torx screw that I think secures the circuit board. Problem is the red housing appears to be impenetrable, like they don't want you to change your own bulbs Do I have to take off the entire lights to get to this?

    Here's some shots

    There's a small torx screw, you can kind of see the circular housing on the bottom leftish of this shot. My guess is it locks in the circuit board.

    Here's my setup on a 2014 Allroad. Followed awhk82 for the Vagcom code and it works. No dash error. Thanks!

    Tip to you guys trying to figure out the correct resistors to use.
    You have to add a resistor in parallel (not in series) to the new LED bulb to increase the power/current going to the cable to the bulb.

    To calculate how big the resistor should be you have to use Ohms law. P=U*I and R=U/I

    Lets say that the new bulb is 5W and the standard one is 16W then we have the following calculation:
    standard bulb:
    I=16W/12V = 1,33A

    LED bulb:
    I=5W/12V = 0,417A this bulb only draws 1/3 of the current the standard bulb does. We now need to calculate what size resistor to use to draw an additional 0,913A(done below)
    R=12V/0,913A = 13,14 ohm now we need to determine how much power this will have to last (done below)
    P=12*0,913A = 10,9W

    In this case the correct resistor is 13 ohm and 10W

    Good luck =)

    The bits are read from left to right, not right to left
