You can ask the guys on here, I have been running the FWD hard...only downside is its not Quattro, you really cant beat the Quattro...The upsides to the FWD are more power to the ground, less moving parts to fail, lighter, with slicks I can launch just as hard as an awd car and put the power down at the track, better MPG ;) With me being in south Florida, we have no curvy roads, no elevation change and no snow, so Quattro wouldn't benefit me in those areas any more than my FWD will do down here. If I go WOT its either at the track or on the highway where traction isn't an issue(unless its wet out).

Thanks for the info! I live in Cali so I don't see any snow, hills etc. Can't wait til I start my own build! I'll definitely be referring to your build thread when I do!

Let me know when you can pull 1.5's all of the time and then you can say you can launch just as hard as a Quattro.

My buddy pulls out 1.8 all day at the track and he would consider himself a novice with only two track days and a very fresh GTI to get use too.

Mike P-FWD GTI with no problems pulling low 60's.

Tim Mullen - running a train on them chicken fingers.

All Gab needs is a decent slick and if he has them then he needs to let out the tire pressure. Quattro cars can run 20-22 psi, track dependent. While FWD is very low Teens. Get that wrinkle!

When did Transverse cars become a b5 A4 1.8t? LOL

Even with my DR's at 25-30psi I can still pull under 1.6's.

I will certainly try my best! haha

viceprp: I have a set of MT slicks and I run them at 9psi at the track, now that I have a solid clutch and have had some practice on the slicks, I see can myself putting down a great time.

Im just not into the water/meth injection...It's one less thing to fill up lol
I'm sure if I used it I would see some gains, but I just converted to E85 so let me play with this for a little bit and we will go from there. =)

    Bigger Brakes
A8 Rotors and TT carriers I still need to be able to swap out the stock brakes and this OEM BBK was perfect for when I have to go to the track. If I went AP Racing or StopTech BBK I would have to change the Calipers and Bleed the System, with the A8 Upgrade I do not(most I would have to do is change the carrier and open the bleeder when I compress the piston to swap pads etc.)

Oh dude that's sick! I also wanted to do a BBK but I just had my brakes fluids recently flushed! Didn't know the A8 upgrades didn't need new calipers! Also did you do anything to the rear brakes? I find it awkward that the stock front ones are so big and the rear ones are super small...

Because I am trying to keep the car as light as I can I kept the rear brakes stock. Yeah the A8 upgrade utilizes stock calipers, all you need is the rotors and carriers.

I bought the kit off of ECS, I had issues with the carriers they supplied so I replaced them with the OEM TT Carriers and now its perfect. China man parts just don't cut it...

I would also recommend getting Stainless Braided Brake lines, it will stiffen up your pedal quite a bit(rubber lines flex and you get a "mushy" pedal)

Threw the car on the dyno for tuning and we are keeping the car at ~460whp and ~390ftlb @~30psi until I can get the cams and intake mani in this summer(possibly the exhaust mani too)
