Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This thread serves as an index for carbon build-up related threads within the B8 A4 sub-section. There is a "megathread" located in the Drivetrain section for an index of all models located here. Feel free to PM me any additions (internal or not). I can also index any model specific information one might have.

I've tried to tag content as much as possible. With either PICS where there is photographic evidence or CONCERN where there is discussion surrounding concern of the issue.

    Revised 2.0T details:

Starting with the redesigned B8 platform, Audi now uses a 211hp, revised 2.0 liter Turbocharged engine dubbed the 2.0TFSI (as opposed to 2.0FSI). There has been some conjecture in the community but no solid technical details about what modifications Audi may have made to attempt to rectify the carbon build-up issue. One of the differences noted that may have an impact is that the standard operating oil temperature for the new engine is 20 degrees F higher than the prior engine, sitting now at 220 degrees F.

Anybody having any other insight or information on this, I'd love to hear from.
