In that window, change the 9 to a 30. I think I then selected Test > Save > Done, Go Back.

I did not touch the 100% values in the top right

Killer, that did it!! THANK YOU AWDLover!!

Now to the other item in my previous post... Anyone have some insight on the proper byte 14 & 15 combo? I now have my own vcom cable so I can try different options quickly.

EDIT: When I enter in a value into the box in the Long Coding helper, byte 15 doesn't change. However I can change it up top. Jeez, I didn't even think of trying that. Regardless I tried 0D, 5D and no luck...

It looks like 1D0D or 5D5D works for almost everyone... is there another byte or bit hidden somewhere??

    hello guys,

I just want to share with you some wisdom. There are few of you who don't have any "letter" in your ECU serial number.

I have the same (most basic ECU). And yet, I made everything working thanks to my firend.

I will post my long code later, as we need to adjust some details like wiring for high beams. But we will do that later, when there is not freezing hell outside.

    Cheers ! :)

    Hey Guys,
I just came back inside and STILL no Hi-Beams on my 2010. wtf?!
All the lights work without any more errors except for the hi-beams.

So, I triple checked that the wiring harness is properly connected- that includes pins 3 & 9 in the tan and red connector under the dash. All good. I tried 1D0D, 3D0D, 5D0D, 7D5D, 7D7D, 1D3D, and a few other combinations for bytes 14&15 without any luck. There was a brief mention of changing byte 4 earlier on in the thread, but I was unable to get that to affect anything...

    This is what I've done...

Byte 0: From 69 → 23 = change from halogen to xenon bulbs
Byte 2: Bit 4: From 00 → 10 = Daytime Running Lights via DRL LEDs Active
Byte 3 = Bit 2 LED on with parking light inactive
Byte 10 = Bit 3 (Side Marker Lights [not] Installed)
    Byte 14: From 7F → 1D = bi-xenon high-beams
    Byte 15: From 5F → 0D = bi-xenon high-beams

    [9- Central Electric]
[Security Access - 16] (enter security code 20113)
    [Adaptation - 10]
    Channel 03- Changed to 30

My long code as it stands is 230010B5063C00010000000300001D0D0F1452080200000100 0000

Can anyone help me find the proper coding to make my hi-beams work?! Thank you for any help you maybe able to lend.

His user name is lowestA4. He used to have a lot of these headlights, though he now says he is permanently sold out of them. From time to time he comes across a set and will post them in the classifieds.

I have my ecodes installed/vagged however I want to remove the housing to clean them. Will removing the headlight from the harness disable the vag or will it be fine once its plugged back in?

I'm looking at doing the same thing for mine. I saw the new ECS Euro-style Xenons and emailed them about what it would take to set it up. They emailed back a parts list that was about $2 grand worth of items including 2 halogen ultra-whites, 2 LED control units, 2 Xenon bulbs, and 2 Xenon ballasts along with the actual fixtures.

It seems a little....excessive. I know there are much cheaper xenon bulbs which come with ballasts, although not factory spec. I was genuinely hoping for a setup for under $800 as I'd prefer to spend money on actual performance upgrades rather than appearance quirks (as much as the halogens annoy me). I'm not made of money. What exactly are my options?

Quick question, for the extra Kufatec wires, after removing the connectors, is there anything else to do before I pin 3 & 9 ? or they just click in there slots and reconnect ? When people say careful with breaking the pins what are they referring to ?

To spend the least amount of money, wait until a full set (housings, bulbs, ballasts, adapter) show up in the audizine classifieds. You may wait a while as full sets are rare and go really fast.

I waited until some housings came up for sale in the classifieds (got them for $350).. I then bought an hid kit from hidconcept.com. It comes with all the necessary bulbs and ballasts ($440). Finally got an adapter from kufatec ($70). Total $860

First thing to do is make sure you have made all the necessary changes to the coding. Then route your high beam wires, unplug the connectors, slip back the purple piece to unlock the pins, slide in the new pin, click back the purple piece, then plug it back in.

When people talk about being careful with the pins, they're talking about the pin that is connected to the end of the wire. If you break that, you will have to source a new pin and connect it to the end of the wire. If you bought a non kufatec adapter (like the yellow wire one on ebay) or the pins have been cut, you will have to attach new pins (though I think I read somewhere people just shoving the wire into the connector). Read through this thread as there are pictures and description of how to do everything.

Waiting seems to be part of the game for these. There are a lot of aftermarket kits for everything up to B8 A4s which makes no sense to me as there are so many of us who bought plus models and ended up with halogen headlights which we'd pay decent money to replace. I'd happily settle for halogen projectors with an LED daytime running strip if any existed.

Sometimes it almost looks like an aftermarket S4 '08 headlight would fit.

There is a sort of plastic "handle" that runs somewhere at the middle of the connector, you have to pull that out, as it will release the pins... I recall having the exact same problem...

You don't want to completely remove it. Just slide it out some, insert the pin, and then click it back into place.

Haven't been here for a while, good to see that many of you have gotten this to work.
Cost me close to $1500 to get this done but it was money well spent imo.
Now I want new wheels and rubbers and will need to save up another $1500 or so lol

I have a question for you guys regarding the xenon conversion.

I can buy a set of bi-xenon for a very good price with kufatec adapters but the problem is one headlight has part number 8K0 941 003 C which is the correct part for my 2009 audi a4 which has now halogen lights but the right headlight has part number 8K0 941 004 G, so this has the AFS function.
Can i still install this set or do i get errors with the right headlight because AFS doesn't work ?

What do you guys think, just leave this set and look for a different set of matching bi-xenon headlights with the correct part numbers

    No problem :)
Try to get a set always, as to one by one, because the colors might be different (on rare cases).
If they are faded, you want them both faded or else one will just stand out more.
But for the most part, especially if you get Ecodes, they are rock solid looking.

On the kufatec harness the high beam pins aren't numbered. Does it matter which one is connected to which plug

    It definitely matters.
You may have to guess in that case and swap if it doesn't work.
