getting a p0141(bank 1 sensor 2 heater circuit malfunction) need a new sensor?

I got on it a little bit tonight on the highway and i hit about 90 mph and the light came on, so i reached for my little OBD2 code reader that i keep in my car at all times and checked the code while i was driving and saw i had a p0141....so i cleared it and about 10 min later i got to my gf's house and then came back out a lil later to go to a buddies house and 20 min later the CEL came back on and it was the same code as before.....I work on toyota's and every time we get a heater circuit code we just put new sensors in but i was jw if anyone has any other input before i order a sensor for it!

Best place to get a good deal on one? Genuinevwaudi has them for 129 bones and ecs wants 200 some for their oem audi sensor so i think genuine is a very good deal!!!

I do have a TP and i believe the code i would be getting from that would be a catalyst efficiency below threshold if it had to do with the TP which is why im leading to believe it needs a sensor!!!

That's the AFT one right? I'd just go for the gap one, since is cheaper, and is really not that difficult to replace, as long as you have the correct size wrench.

P0141 is usually caused when the sensor impedance is below the required threshold as calibrated by the manufacturer. Impedance is directly related to the temperature of the sensor. If the temperature of the sensor is too low, the measured impedance is too high. Thus, the heater circuit in the sensor is not maintaining the required sensor element temperature. Either the sensor is toast, or the circuit leading to the sensor is not delivering the required voltage to the sensor in order create the necessary temperature. Check the wiring to the sensor. If it is intact, the sensor is most likely bad.

thanks for that helpful info! after i cleared the code the second time ive put about 50 mi or so on the car and i dont have any pending dtc's and the CEL never came back on! Im a lil confused by it not coming back since the code showed up twice with in a period of an hour or so and now it hasnt showed up in 2 days!! guess ill just drive it and if i see the code again i will just replace it!

BTW, the easiest way to replaced the sensor is just removing the top half of the intake box and viola. Took me about half an hour. Check out the plenty room w/ 034 HFC on.

Getting P0141 w/an 034 HFC and a REVO tune. Happened 2x when I got on it while the engine was still cold (had to, merging onto a highway). Was ~2 months between the codes popping on. I am on the original rear O2 sensor (now 104k miles) w/034 spacer (front O2 sensor OEM replaced at the time of 034 HFC install ~ 7000 miles ago). I am willing to gamble a new rear sensor will do the trick.

any chance you have an update for this? also just got my revo tune, also have an 034 hfc and also getting P0141 as well as P0140. i'm still on the original o2 sensors as well, so it might be worth me swapping them out anyways.

EDIT: looks like this may be a reoccurring issues with REVO II and 034 HFC pairings. glad i'm not the only one.

No update, I've just been ignoring it. It still registers low on my test but the car seems to be fine. I still intend to replace the O2 sensor when I get around to it. FYI, I have since switched to a Motoza tune for other reasons (readiness code with CAT wouldn't allow me to pass NJ inspection on REVO) and it is still there.

EDIT: Now at 132k miles on original rear O2 sensor.

hmm, i currently have a rear spacer on my o2 sensor. i'll try taking that off this weekend and see if it makes any difference. if it does, great, if not i'll try replacing the rear o2 sensor. then i'm out of ideas.

Flashed my motoza tune couple days ago.. i have an 034 HFC with a rear 02 spacer. Just got the code P0141 02 Sensor Heater Circ.

After you removed your spacer, did the code go away??

i had the spacer on before i got tuned, just never took it off after. still haven't gotten around to this yet, guess i should give it a shot sooner than later.
