Re: The Offical New Mexico Audi Thread

well it finally happened one of my coil packs crapped out luckily after checking with Audi my car was under the recall so I was able to have them change all the coils also what was great is Audi covered the towing to the dealership so after a whole weekend with out my car(due to them being booked on service) I get my car back today so ya...another good thing about this is I found out which coil pack went dead because I tried to switch them out with a spare I had and the second coilpack broke in half inside the motor so that was bad so I just but everything back together and said ill have them deal with this so I kinda dodged a bullet there...so now that this is done thursday Im off to Santa Fe to get my chip yippie I cant wait

Yeah they may have a flashloader sitting around that they could change your program for you... Don't be too surprised if they charge you. I would hope they wouldn't for something as simple as that. What GIAC programs do you have on your ECU? Also what mods do you have done?

They switched it for me at no charge. Its a GIAC XR with the stock, pump, race fuel, valet, and ignition kill features. The car is now stage 2+, I did piggie pipes in my garage about a month ago, and a 3" Magnaflow exhaust just before that (I'm fairly good with a welder). And after New Years I'll be changing the timing belt . I'm in high school, so I have plenty of time to tinker around with this stuff and its great fun.

I'm not sure if you are aware of it yet, but JHM is selling k04 replica turbos right now in a group buy for $1400 shipped which seems like a great deal and a cheap way to get to stage 3

Re: The Offical New Mexico Audi Thread

Hey, I saw the GB, but thats a little out of the quetion at the moment. And as far as piggie pipes go, it is def worth doing it, and I would be up for helping anyone. There doesnt seem to be anything for high schoolers to do around here, so I've just been working on the Audi, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

The piggies make quite a bit a difference and free up quite a bit of hp and allow those turbo's to spool a little quicker... it's def a great inexpensive mod to do w/ great gains
