I was looking to do some of the lighting mods, windows up and down with keys, enable lap timer/oil temps, adjust dynamic steering and throttle response since I don't have the Sports Diff. Things of that nature.

Sorry guys, I only have an eBay vag-com cable with VCDS-Lite, so I'm limited to scanning and clearing codes, can't do programming or anything like that, at least not that I know of.

Congrats on the Q5. Is that a typo on the price? The RT site shows '09+ Q5 using either Hex-Can-USB or Hex-Com-Can (but you need a serial port). The Hex-Can-USB is $350 though. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but I know I'd be bummed if I waited for my cable to arrive and it was the wrong one.

No problem. Plug cable in and turn ignition on but car not running. First time you run the software it will direct you to run a test which creates a file for your vehicle and then you are good to go. With the Long Coding Helper, making changes could not be any easier on the newer cars. Even on the previous gen cars, it's just a matter of adding or subtracting numbers to the code to enable a change. The LCH takes care of much of that for you so some changes are simply ticking/unticking boxes or maybe changing an adaptation value. It's a lot of phone enabling a feature that didn't come with the car. Enjoy!

Best instructions are on the first page of the B8 S4 vagcom thread. Print out the codes and as you go along, write down your original coding before you change it. That way if something doesn't seem right or does not work, it is easy to go back and put restore your original coding. Have fun with it

I cant seem to get reverse tilt mirror .....
It said to go to byte 4 and change bit 2&4 but all i am able to do is either click or unclick on the check mark?

How do you set value for any "bits"? So confused....

And also hidden menu? Is this something when enabled that show on your nav screen? Or within the vagcom menu? Lol sorry

Just to verify, when you say "nav" you mean nav and not just the screen. I ask because the hidden menu is nav only (at least on the B8 it is). The hidden menu screen will replace your MMI screen when it comes up. You bring it up by holding both buttons to the left of the MMI controller (Car and Setup I believe) down for about 6 seconds. You exit the screen by resetting the system (you'll have to see what button combo resets the Q5 system, either online or in your manual).

You can navigate the vcds screen with your arrow keys from byte to byte. If there is no check box for the bit, then you can enter the new value manually.

I don't think you have a DVD player to enable video in motion. Pretty sure you have mmi 2g and not 3g
