    Re: Please help *Broken Piece*

i just had some pcv replaced under the intake mani, from your photos it looks just like one of the pieces i had replaced:

06A-103-213-AM Breather elbow from oil filter stand to breather T for 1.8T AMB (number 2 below)
i also had these replaced at the same time, all part of the same hose system:
06A-103-245-F/C Breather system check valve from oil filter stand to valve cover for A4
    1.8T; replaces 06A-103-247 and others on '04 A4 1.8T (number 6 below)

06B-103-213-AK/AF Breather elbow from breather T to breather hose on back of valve cover gasket (number 9 below)

    06B-103-221-L "T-shaped" 90deg crankcase breather hose-valve cover for B6/B5
"AWM" 1.8T; VIN split 8E0-4-000 001<, although may not be completely correct (number 5 below)

    heres a picture:

to fix it, you would have to remove the intake mani to get to those hoses.

i took it to a local audi shop to get it fixed, didnt want to mess with taking out the intake mani. if you want to do it yourself, either get the parts from genuinevwaudiparts.com or i think ecs has most of them. GVA will be cheaper.

That's the crankcase breather tube. You might be able to replace it just by unbolting the coolant bottle and moving it out of the way.

#1 is the oil filter bracket, PN 06A115405AE

the oil filter attaches directly beneath it.

Anyone know if part #2 in the ETKA diagram is that hard pipe??? Has a wire clip you pull out similar to the upper radiator hose connection to the radiator that you pull to disconnect the pipe to whatever it is inserted into. I pulled the wire clip on mine and it turns 90 degree freely, but how do you pull the hard pipe off? I could not get mine off the other day when I was changing out the inline bleeder valve in the T-hose.

If it's the hard pipe I asked about.....

Move the coolant overflow tank out of the way. Take a long flat head screwdriver from the topside of the intake manifold to pull out the wire clip I mentioned on the hard pipe -- do not remove it completely, only pull far enough off tell it clicks (positive stop). I got my right hand in there to the T-hose by going in from the right rear side of the intake manifold -- fished my hand between some of the vac hoses in that area. You'll have to remove the one time clamp on the radiator side of the T-hose with a very small flat head screwdriver (I use a shirt pocket sized screwdriver).

I don't know how the hard pipe is pulled up and out. When disconnected from the T-hose there is only enough room to move it freely 90 degrees back and forth. I can't get my hand to the elbow part of the hard pipe, just short of it, so I don't have the leverage to remove it directly above it's connection as I would if I could get my hand on it's elbow.
