    Baby seats-

Anyone sporting baby car seats in the rear? If so, are you able to fit them properly? I never realized, but the it seems the rear recaro seats are slightly raised compared to my A4. I currently drive an A4 for with one peg prego and recaro baby seat.

I have a Brittax Marathon 70 (jet set) in the back for my 2 year old. Fits like a glove and is plenty big enough for him. The only gripe is that his feet reach the back of the passenger seat so he kicks it time to time.

    And here he is:

Yeah. The ReCaro was too big for most of our cars and sat at least 3-4" taller than other seats I checked out, and turned out the kid didn't actually like it that much because the sides obstructed his view. Sold it and got a cheap Cosco something or other. It's low-profile, a little more roomy and looks fine. I added small ReCaro should-strap covers to maintain status.
My kid just turned 2 and I can't imagine still trying to fit him in the ReCaro, his head would probably just about hit the roof and he's NOT big.

Yeah, my 4 yr old sits in the recaro which is directly behind me. He actually loves it and sleeps more comfortable with the head rest. It fits but a tight fit. Figured I'd upgrade my 8 month old to the recaro soon. I saw an 04 S4 Avant asking $17,700 with some 60Kish miles a week ago. I was tempted to make an offer. But I feel really bad for my 4 yr old as space is very limited in the rear seats. Part of me thinks I should get something larger with more leg room. Then again, I can also see my 4 yr old saying, " drive FASTER papa!" Music to my heart! hahaha

Thankfully that 04 S4 avant was sold. I'll just keep thinking and searching again.

about to have two Recaros for new baby in April.

The Recaro does sit abit high, my son likes it, he can see all the "Macs" ( Car's Movie) But now that he is growning out of control, he putsd his feet all over the back of the seat, thank god my wife is short.

Recaros here... Sure there a little tall/big... They even fit in a B5 and our very easy to install securely IMO and the headrest and side bolsters adjust as your little one grows like a weed.

I have a S4 avant with a 9 and 6 year old in the back. The 6 yr old is in a booster, the fit is snog, but not an issue at all, afterall they are only 3 and 4 feet tall so leg room really isn't an issue. But they do put a lot of dirt on the back of my seat with them snow boots.

I have a 2009 A4 Avant and I originally got the Recaro ProRide and I could not get it to fit correctly because the top tether was too long. You could not tighten it enough to stop lateral movement. I switched it for the Recaro ProSport and because the ProSport is not as tall, the top tether can be tightened and it fits great. It also sits much more flush with the contours of the seat back as compared to the ProRide which was not a great fit. I use the seat in the rear middle position using LATCH. The only issue with that is that the LATCH connections block seat belt access for anyone sitting on either side of the seat.

Wow, we have the Recaro ProRide and it fits in my B5 Avant. I'm still thinking about an A6 Avant for a little more room. Def, need to test fit a seat with any car purchase.

While I once had a B6 Avant, I drive a D2 S8 these days which has a lot of rear leg room by comparison.

We have the Recaro ProRide installed in the car, the seat is big so it takes up a lot of space, but my kid loves it and appears to be very comfortable in it. I love how solid the seat is...
Also get a lot of compliments on it...
I also have a 2nd one in my wife's daily driver, mkV GTi, but that requires the front passenger seat to be moved up a good bit. And the mkV has pretty good interior space...

We still have the seat rear facing for now, once it goes front facing then that will free up a lot more space...

    Installed in the GTi...

I'm very happy with the seat...

The time has finally came to buy a bigger seat for our 11 month old. Of course my first choice was the Recaro, but now we are leaning toward the Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 Convertible Car Seat. We were not able to find it in any local stores to try a test fit. Anyone have this one? Would really like to know how it fits in the Avant. $249.99 on Amazon

I have a Recaro booster seat for my tall 5 yr old. It fits snuggly in my A6 Avant; same on the VW CC (which to say the least is quite cramped at the back).

That maxi-cosi just looks like the safety 1st air carseats but rebranded. I believe they're owned by the same company but you can check them out at target or babies r us. I use Radian carseats by Diono for my kids, it has a steel cage and able to fit 3 across in the back. I'd much rather my kids be in safe car seats rather than it just looking cool. Radians and britax has the best safety ratings. Be careful of the lesser brands or fancy ones that havent been around for long like orbits which was tested by consumer reports and said to be dangerous because they pop out of the base upon impact tests... Pretty crappy for a seat which is around $800!

ihave a b6 a4 avant...have a recaro seat in the back and it fits perfectly. i had a mk4 gli before the avant and the baby seat was a tough squeeze. the front pass seat had to be forward all the way. and i didnt enjoy riding in the back seat of my car whenever the three of us went anywhere. thats why we went for the avant. only issue is, i bought a black/red recarro seat to match the recaro's in my gli. and now i have gray leather in the avant. so it doesnt quite match :/ but my daughter does fine in the recaro seat, she sleeps perfectly in it on long drives.

Diono Radian RXTs are my favorite. RF 5-45# (we went with carriers but good to know) FF 20-120#!! Metal frame, folds flat, narrower and lower than most/all. Expensive but I can fit 3 across in my Coupe Quattro!

We had the Recaro ProRide rear facing in my B5 Avant for a while. Tight, but will fit, not a lot of room in the front though. Went with a A6 Avant after a year or so. B5 was fine for short trips, A6 just has tons more room.
