aside from modifying the e-brake, I don't see the issue? It requires quite a nice bracket, but anything is possible. 2Bennett uses the Cayenne/Touareg rear caliper on their BBK. However, there might be some nice alternatives. I really would only like a 2 piston, don't need more then that.

[QUOTE=VegasAIV;4558782]what would be the best pads to run with the tourag setup?
    [QUOTE]

It was about time for an update, eh?

Been doing a bit more research on the subject, and some guys on vortex are having good luck with the 330mm pads with 350mm calipers and 345mm rotors. On my current setup, the pads are right on the outside edge of the rotor, and hang over the inside 1-2mm. Aparently, the 330mm pads are slightly smaller and don't overhang the edges.

Very happy with Hawk HPS for aggressive stage 3 street use- good power, good feel, no fade, no dust, no noise.

The other rotor option others have been working on is the ML55 that I mentioned midway through the thread. It is a true 350x32, but the center bore is too big. They have been using hubcentric wheel rings to make up the diff and center the rotor. Good news is a true 350mm rotor (but not cross drilled) with no machining necessary.

Seeing as were running porsche calipers (toureg being the V6 Cayenne Calipers if im not mistaken) wouldnt I be able to run a V6 Cayenne rotor thats 330x32 such as this one:

Re: cayenne brake upgrade ???? what rotors????

My setup. I am running some cheapo Thermoquiet pads, $60. They have yet to fade and I put them through the paces today. I have a set of Hawk HPS to go in. They are my favorite pad for aggressive street. They can handle some very mild track time as long as you don't late brake. Here are some pics I took today.

PS. Vegas, I didn't mean to come off mean, I just try to encourage people to find the information on their own. The offset is way off for the Touareg/Cayenne rotors as audimeister mentioned. I would stick with the Mercedes rotors. The C32 AMG rotors only take 5 minutes to modify. I have the 330mm setup, but I may be upgrading to the 350mm calipers and 345mm rotors soon.

PPS. These are the HPS pad dimensions for the 330mm rotor and 350mm rotor. Both pads do fit in either caliper. The difference is the height of the pad.

If you have access to a lathe, you could make them pretty quick. However, if you think about it, say these bolts are $5 each. Thats $20 per set in materials. Since they are made in house (machining down the shoulder to 16mm), you had to imagine there being probably about 15-30 minutes of labor per set as well. Add in the cost of labor, and they most likely weren't making anything for $45. $65 I imagine helps them cover their cost, because I don't believe they anticipated so many people sourcing themselves Touareg and Cayenne calipers.

That being said, $65 for 4 shoulder bolts is... well... its very very expensive IMO. 14mm bolt with a copper bushing sure sounds like a better deal now. However... if you think about the overall cost of things, you are saving hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars compared to buying the a kit from a retailer or JHM, so what is an extra $20 in the overall scheme of things?

It is good to support these companies. If i can save $100 doing something on my own, then that is an obvious choice. But if building my own hardware for the Touareg calipers only saves me about $20... I will happily help support JHM.

List of all Carbotech pads. The Porsche 330mm is the same as the Touareg 330mm. They offer the AT6, which is an aggressive street pad (above the Hawk HPS), the XP10, XP12, and more. These are some good pads. I have never ran them myself, but there are lots of people liking them in these cars. Just thought I'd pass this around, since i found it hard to find good race pads at first for the Touareg 330mm calipers. It is much easier for the normal 350mm Porsche / Touareg. 17" wheel is the key search term here. If you run the part numbers through google, there are a few people advertising them.

PS. Would like to get me some of those 368mm brakes. :)

Yeah, they are... I had them make it in a custom 6" x 1" so they fill the whole caliper. I was afraid of just putting a little (3") sticker on it might look bad. I bought them from nicedecal168. They are High temp vinyl too.

Yeah, that's what been stopping me from getting the Brembo decal, it was either too little or too big. I ended up ordering some Porsche decals, but I think I will contact the guy you purchased from.

Re: cayenne brake upgrade ???? what rotors????

I have 2008 R32 and have been looking around at different aftermarket brake kits. I then stumbled upon this thread and was wondering if any other VAG caliper would work with my stock setup? I'd like at least a dual piston setup where my stock calipers have one large piston. When braking they have a very "on" or "off" feel. The specs for my fronts are 13.6" (345mm x 30mm).

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    R.

You know dude, Partsgeek is the only place I have heard of the same direction rotors thing happening. I liked their prices but something seems to be up. The other 5 sets of C230 rotors I have bought, have all been normal left and right. I guess I will go back to the $180 pair instead of $150. I'll post the link when I can find the bill for them.

Thanks. I have decided to go with some Brembo cross drilled sport rotors from JDMhub.com for the c230 sport. They are pretty much the same price as the Zimmerman's but come with both right and left plus they are Brembo. Full 6 pot Brembo BBK for around $650 I can't wait.

when i look up the part i show that it is only a 300mm rotor, i was going to order these but did some searching. doesnt look like brembo makes one for the sport model

Where are you seeing that diameter in those tables? All I see under MB C230 2003 w/sport it says the minimum thickness being 25.4 and the part number under the front column. Am I missing it?

That list is really odd. It says "excluding Sport model" and then says "Including Sport Model". You'd better confirm the size before you order, and make sure you get a Left and Right hand rotor.

Good call, I just got done talking to Adam from thmotorsports.com who helped me double check all the sizes by cross referencing with the stoptech database. Infinkc was correct about the 2003 mb sport rotors being 300mm. I found that a 2000 S500 cross drilled front rotors has the specs 330mm diameter, 32mm normal thickness, weight of 23.12lbs, but a bolt size of 15mm. Would putting some sort of fitting in the bolt size to make it work with our 14mm bolts work? or would the offset be completely off?

Well, the Porsche decals came in today and I place them on one caliper to see how they look. I'm kinda split, I like 'em ,but I still wanna see how the Brembo decals will look. What do you guys think?
