A recent study shows the Audi A4 is 264% above average in terms of citations being issued by car model. I don't know how accurate this study is, but the other cars on the list make sense...whehter high or low.

I'm really surprised that STi and Evo are not on that list.

It's probably because the average age of an A4 owner is <20 (on this forum at least) and STi and Evo owners are mid 20's - mid 30's. And I think we all know how we drove (or drive) when we were 18 years old.

im surprised not to see cobalts, wrx's, and vw's in high category... especially vw's... u know how many 16-20 year old girls got those???.. or maybe its just in michigan, but theyre everywhere!! and most arent very good drivers..

Haha I saw this in the paper the other day. Its because everyone who owns one is young and they are so mod friendly to go faster...and cops just hate kids who drive nice cars

Young A4 owners + hp mods = More tickets. This can happen to any car model so its not the A4 that is a ticket magnet, its the young power mod happy lead foot car owners that are ticket magnets.

The average age of an A4 owner is without a doubt OVER 20. Yes a lot of kids have them on the forums but they are still priced above the average car (new or used) so a majority of their owners are older than 20.

Most cars on that list make sense. Hummer is such a big flashy car that cops love ticketing their drivers. The AMGs are just smooth fast cars so it's too easy to speed. Scions are all driven by young drivers, and tC drivers seem to think they're fast so they drive them fast.

The A4 shocked me. I atleast would've bet the 3 series would've been ahead of it.

I am really, really surprised to see such an understated sedan in the mix for the most ticketed. The A4 is not flashy or aggressive enough to seek unwanted attention and I have never, ever seen an Audi of any kind being pulled over and ticketed.

I believe it, I get pulled over more in this car than when I had my heavily modded Civic hatch. I thought I would be getting away from that with the A4, I didn't even tint my windows because I didn't want to draw police attention. It's illegal to have front windows tinted in Jersey so that is a very easy way to lose $75.

I have recieved at least 3 tickets the first year I had my S4, but was able to plea bargain and come out ahead on all of them.
Take it to court and talk to the DA, alot of times if you dawn poker face with them, they will bargain with ya instead of taking you to court.

I wouldnt exactly call an a4 high class car...Plus I hate when people just thinks when their parents bought their cars, the kid is automatically spoiled...wtf?

And i've gotten quite a few tickets over the 4 year ownership. Probably 4...3 speeding, and one no left turn, and I didn't realize it. 1 of the 3 tickets were dropped, and the other two I had to pay a fine. In the end, its only 3 points for me. This doesn't count tinting tickets...or being pulled over for that....

I got pulled over 14 times in my A4.....yes.....14 TIMES!!!

Not 1 ticket.

Prolly 10 of them were for speeding going no less than 10 over every time, 1 for failure to complete a stop/pulling out in front of a cop/speeding to catch a green light, 1 for illegal lane change (didn't signal), 1 for wreckless driving (drifting in the snow in an abandoned parking lot)

I've been somewhat lucky.....



However, I was driving my mom's PT Cruiser two days ago going 69 in a 55 and got nailed with a ticket. WTF?

I think cops definetly profile because of our cars! i never got pulled over more in a car than this one...i had an airbagged s-10 xtreme with a 350 in it and never got pulled over this car i pass a cop and his neck turns

I've pulled over randomly for a "document check". Weird because he made an illegal u-turn after seeing my car, followed me for a while, and then decided to make a right turn at the intersection while I was making a left, changed his mind, and cut across 3 lanes to proceed to follow me and then pull me over.

My car is a wagon, and it is stock looking. The only thing out of the ordinary is that is is slightly lowered and has a ski rack. Weird. The officer had a thick thick British accent as well.

The average age of an a4 driver is CERTAINLY not less than 20. You have to realize that your view is skewed by the fact that the majority of your interaction with a4 owners is on an online forum - something that the vast majority of adults (read a4 owners) don't even consider participating in. The number of modified a4's is even lower than the number of a4 owners that particpate in forums, so I doubt that has anything to do with this statistic either.

that is crazy, i have never been pulled over in my a4.. i have the front windows tinted slightly (35%) and still cops dont even look at my car.. maybe its because i live in chico, which has an awesome police department, but still in my hometown where tickets are a given for everyone, i havent picked one up yet, maybe im just lucky.

VW's are super popular in some places.. and not in others. In the northeast they're really really popular, sounds like same for Michigan, and I know the Northwest.

I was in LA last week and I saw one modded VW.. and like 15 total. IN LA!

Where I live driving an Audi means a free pass to do whatever the hell you want. I thought I had it good in my jeep, boy I was wrong. I pass highway patrol cars on the interstate, speed past cops pulled over with radar guns, one time I passed a cop on the highway going 85mph in a 60mph zone (I didnt see the cop) and all he did was drive up next to me and motion to slow down. And all of this with 15% tint.

None of the above was intentional, just happened.

cop pulled me over once for going through a stop sign which didnt happen then he said i was on my phone which was un true then asked me about my tint and i said huh? tint? he did all this in the pouring rain the only true thing he could have given me a ticket on was the tint everything else was BS he was just picking on me

And i'm not actually too surprised that STI's and EVO's aren't on the list. Cause most drivers of that car type i've encountered know that everyone knows their car kicks ass so they don't have to prove anything. In my experience they are relatively tame drivers. At least in my area.

But one surprise would be the cobalt ss and the neon srt-4's. I see srt-4's try to race EVERYTHING. And watching supercars exposed the other day i saw one trying to race a brand new ferrari 599 GTB hahahaha.

And yeah i got way more in my passat VR6 than my audi. Cops seem to not pay attention to my car as much as they did my passat for some reason. But i still don't speed very often though.

and after reading the full article, minivans are on the least ticketed!? I can't even begin to describe how many minivan drivers speed. Low key car i understand, but holy crap. They are driven by crazy middle aged women who suck at driving. Just the other day i saw a minivan (driven by a middle aged woman) swerving through traffic and gunning it from every stop maintaining at least 10-15 over the speed limit everywhere it went. And not to mention it was night, so it was dark out and she didn't have her lights on...

AHHHH i hate that stereotype! The soccer mom vehicle is more of an SUV than anything. I would know, i've played soccer all my life. The minivan is just the "involved mom" vehicle. In reality stuff like the Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade, and Suburban are honestly the most common soccer vehicles. It's kind of an older stereotype but sadly it lives on...

None dont drive like an idiot. But man when i was 16-19 my license was suspended mostly for hanging out with the wrong peeps... Learned my lesson and rather spend money on mods or other stuff.
