    bad fuel economy

    2000 a6 2.7L
    over the last year the car started to take almost twice as much fuel as before. any ideas on what could be causing this and how to fix it. thanks.

    A Little more details needed, what kind of fuel economy? done any maintenance to it like air filter, fuel filter??

    Did u get a recall, my a6 2.7 tt had a recall on something with the fuel tank which were taking out some extra fuel. Check with your local dealership to see if the car needs this done. That might be your problem.

    The recall just reinforces a valve next to the gas tank, it has nothing to do with gas mileage.

    details are lacking majorly, it could be a handful of things.

    It sounds like someone swapped out your factory tank with a bigger one lol
