Need Help ASAP!!!!!!!

Ok so my car has been at the body shop for about 2 days. I go to pick the car up and now it won't start. The engine is cranking but it's not igniting. It's not the battery cause even when hooked up to jumpers the engine just turns but won't make compression and ignite. The tank is half full. I just put 20 bucks in the day before I dropped it off.

I thought the fuel lines were just frozen due to crappy mobile gas but even after the car has spent all night in a 85 degree garage it's still no different.

Help please! I'm supposed to be leaving for school!

The car was just having some custom work done. No accident. I don't know about codes I don't have vagcom and audisportb5s4 can't get over here until this afternoon.

well gas cant freeze it never gets cold enough for that to happen. Its probably your ignition module's on the air box thiers 2 of them. Also pull a coil pack out stick a screw driver in it and hold it close to a ground and have someone crank it to see if you have spark. if no spark check the inition modules

hmm, car goes to body shop and comes back not running? you note the mileage before you took it in?

Does the car power up? Whats the volts reading off the battery? Check your grounds, check your battery, sounds like you really need to run vag-com.

It's a wild goose chase without codes unfortunately.... post up some codes when you get them and we'll take a look. But i would check the crank sensor plug on the tranny and where it plugs in on the firewall behind the coolant res. Make sure you have a good connection at both ends. BTW, if you are looking it up in a manual, it will probably be under "engine speed sensor". good luck

Do you remember the mileage? I would be afraid to leave my car at the body shop. Anyone can take it for a ride and abuse it.

Yes I never leave hlm my car at a shop without noting the mileage. Ha only 1 mile was added since I dropped the car off. I know the owner of this particular shop anyway.

Ran vagcom and there are no codes. It's weird. No codes at all. I checked so many things. I'm getting spark and fuel is being pumped. Sometimes it sounds and feels like it's about to start then doesn't. Checking crank sensor and associated next.

what did they do in that 1 mile? and why would a body shop need to move your car a mile to begin with?

The body shop just moved my car in and out of the bay a few times. It could have been 0.2 of a mile, the car just went from 126,734 to 126,735 miles. I trust the owner of this shop because of the personal level he has with one of my best friends. The shop just took the front bumper off, since the reiger was apoxied on and not clipped on, put on different mesh, and put the bumper back on. The only reason they moved it in and out of the shop was because they had the car overnight and kept it inside overnight until they had time to do the car.

Check all the fuses and did you disconnect igniters by the aribox /intake? If you did make sure you plug them the way they should be other wise the car won’t start.

That's weird that there is no codes. I would def be suspicious of them maybe hitting something cause it would be different if it was sitting in the cold and didnt start but if it was inside a heated garage it shoudve been fine.How about the relay? I forgot which number it was? Im just throwing that out there no idea.

I bet it has something to do with the ECU. The shop may have disconnected the battery before they got to work on it. Reset the computer perhaps?

Ok, so Greg from SSP was an awesome guy and came out to my house to help me out. After tearing apart my engine of everything I could think of, Greg came and checked out all the stuff that I didn't know about. We went through everything possible on the car. Plugs, Coilpacks, Ignitors, Ignition Modules, Relays, Fuses, Fuel Pump, Fuel lines, crank sensor, cam sensor, everything, and nothing worked. The one thing left to check and the one thing left Greg thinks it can possibly be, in terms of something wrong with the engine, is the Tone Ring for the LWFW I have. Apparently if someone stalls the car pretty hard the tone ring can break off so the ECU doesn't know some of the angle of the engine that it needs to run so it refuses to start.

We're not sure if this is it, but Greg is working on my car to pull the transmission to figure it out. If this isn't it for right now we're clueless.

I wouldn't think it was the keys because both sets of keys loosing programming at the same time? But if it isn't the tone ring it might just be. I'll keep you all posted.

It's possible for the tonering to be broken if someone stalls the car pretty hard but its also uncommon. I had a car that had a rock somehow get in to the bellhousing and chipped out the tone ring in a few places. Car started but ran like shit and it was very tough diagnosing it

You can take out the crank sensor and there is also an inspection hole where you can look at the tone ring and see what it looks like.
