    Re: heads up display

there is one just like that i saw a couple years ago that projected onto the front windshield... it showed it going through a turn and how you could still see through the window. seemed like a cool idea but i really didn't need it.

    Re: heads up display

how much does that unit cost?

I tried to find the price on the page and did not find any clue.

hope it would be borderless and smaller box.

    Re: heads up display

Remove the little border on it and find a way to adhere it to the windshield for a more OEM look.

When the Z06 first came out, I remember one of its flagship factory upgrades (i don't remember if it was optional or standard) was the HUD that displayed speed on the windshield so you didn't have to look down when you were driving.

    Re: heads up display

It reminds of those old HUDs that I saw in 90s cars, they were integrated into windshield/dashboard and showed you the speed. This unit looks some other technology and you can buy it toys. $330 price tag is silly.

My friends M6 has that, it's very cool! You can turn it on or off depending if you want to use it or not.

Do you really need to know your speed? It's kind of an irrelevant number unless your driving around the speed limit. And if your driving at the speed limit on a public road then you're not really going fast enough to need real time data in HUD form.

If you were on the track where you're driving at the limit where you may want a HUD, then you don't care about your speed anyway.

    Total useless gimmick IMO.

    +1.

Also, it just doesn't look good IMO. It works on vettes and such because it is OEM and is integrated into the dash, but when it's just a box sitting on top it looks stupid.
