Would you recommend lightly sanding the contact surfaces of the glue points to help with adhesion? Or just leave it as is?

haha, sorry man! I bought the grilles without mesh on them, so I have no idea. I'll have to let you know after I do the center section in the spring haha. But like Komp said, I would imagine a dremel will be your friend.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt, but with the glue that I used I don't think it really makes a difference. Stuff is really crazy

Looks great. Could be a good spring project. I'm not really motivated by winter either. I have the same socks BTW. Socks of... Champions.

But all in all I think it looks really good and will look great once you fix the middle section in the spring.

that is pretty gay...lltek never had this last year. i bought the metal mesh that chips for 88 bucks... Mike didn't I tell you last summer to go to lltek? Anyway that looks freaking sweet!

So we all know that the real deal RS4 mesh is the shit... But shelling out 75 per section for mesh that barely fits is a lot to spend on a little mod. I looked into having custom mesh made from industrial netting, the company that owns McMaster Carr, but it never worked out... I would of gotten a white, smaller diamond that would have been no where close, then had to paint it... So anyways

Here is what I bought... You get THREE oversized rectangle pieces for 88 dollars... It's from LLTEK. They do not advertise it that much on their site, because its what they use for their own bumpers when they make a sale.

Don't mind the zipties :-p. Just holding the mesh down while the glue sites overnight.

Here's a link to my thread using these LLtek grills. I ended up drilling TINY holes into the grills and bumpers & everything is held in w/ small zipties. I couldn't figure a way to adhere the grill to the bumper w/o making a complete mess w/ epoxy....so I chose that route. I'm very meticulous about my car...and I can barely see the drill marks or zipties.

I used Loctite Stik n' seal... I also got a bunch of small black zipties from HD and started drilling 7/64th holes where you couldn't notice them and zip tying as well for added security. Works well for over 7 months now, and I just had them out to re align my bumper and it was still holding up great.

Yes- Audi reinforced the center mesh so incredibly well it's enough to laugh at for hours and hours.

Taking the bumper off is a whore, but you should really follow the instructions on AudiWorld... You remove wheel, wheel liner, then grab a long flathead and pry off the top set then it makes it a 10-15 minute thing over 2-3 hours of back ripping pain.

I can get my buper off in 5 minutes flat, you guys are on crack. Take out the two side grills, remove long bolts, pull the sides just the right way and its off...

Never had an issue taking my bumper off - always been a 5-10 minute ordeal. Putting it back on isn't even that difficult.

I lost the driver's side grill, and need to know if anybody knows of an RS4 mesh that will resemble that of the LLtek ones. I called to order just one small sheet, and they said they need to sell them with all 3 sheets because he would need to take it from a kit. He would not be able to sell the kit with that one smaller peice missing, from what he told me. And it would come out to close to $120 after shipping, when all I need is just that smaller sheet.

If you look in post #76 (like 4 posts up), there is a pic labeled as HD mesh. What is that, and where can I pick it up from? I am basically looking for an alternative, because my driver's side grill went missing. Thanks!
