    anyone here tried zmax?

I was just watching the speed network and i was watching that show they have called "truckU" where they fix up old trucks and stuff. They were talking about the 02 sensors and one of the guys had a little "quick tip" and he said that the vmax fuel additive helps keep the 02 sensor clean and by doing so helps it keep at full operating capacity and helps fuel economy.

I thought it sounded like another gimic, basically something that zmax probably paid them to say as subtle advertising. But just wondering if anyone has actually tried the stuff.

TruckU is sponsored by vmax if you haven't noticed, pretty much every commercial break they have a "how can you protect your blank against blank, we'll have the answer right after this" and then it comes back with some vmax additive.

yeah i know, that's why i didn't rush out the door to buy some VMAX! I feel like i've seen a thread on this before but when i searched VMAX i only found 2 threads

I somehow feel like i remember someone posting something about it with a pic of their crazy science fiction bottle that looks like a movie style chemistry beaker.

I've actually given some of those additives a try in some of my other (older, less cared-about) cars. They're all a bunch of BS.

Personally, SeaFoam is the only "miracle" product out there that actually does anything in my opinion (and experience).

    Re: anyone here tried zmax?

That's too bad that all that stuff doesn't work. It would be really cool if someone could actually put some effort into figuring out an additive that could somehow mix with the fuel and actually chemically create more particles per part in your fuel and really increase fuel economy...

But then that would be insanely expensive, and oil companies would probably throw a bitch fit.

Well that, and the whole part about it being more or less against the laws of physics.

ZMax has been sued by the FTC for unsubstantiated performance claims:

It's snake oil, but people keep buying it anyway.
