Bent rim, awsome

Hit a pot hole last night and bent my rim, the tire was OK luckily so i had it swapped over to the spare rim and filed a claim with the city. so they can pay for fixing the bent rim.

But i got a vibration under medium-heavy braking, I'm thinking its a wheel bearing (again, goody) anyone think its something else?

x3. talk to the city and then take it to a mechanic for further inspection... a lot more could have been done that isnt noticed yet... isht, if i was you, i'd go run into some curbs and get all new CA and stuff haha. thank you Gov'

They will in MD. I bent two rims and was reimbursed for the cost of repair/replacement of wheels and tires. There's actually a highway loss division here in MD.

i know my lower control arms are wearing out and my swaybar links are making some clunking, but I'm going to take it to a shop i know so i have something on paper to give the city.
I'll try rotating the wheels and see if it makes a difference with my new braking vibration.

Theres actually a section on the city's website for "reporting vehicle damage caused by pot holes" it seems they assess each case to determine eligibility for coverage. Last year I know of someone who got a new rim and tire for their BMW 645i after hitting a relativley large pot hole, over $1000 the city paid out!

man you guys are lucky. I hit a pothole last night and bent my rim and blew a hole in the sidewall of my tire. The city here rasied our taxes to fix pothole, but still have not done shit about it. They are cheap here and theres no way they would replace my rim and tire. Also, anyone know where to get stock rims for a good price?

in some areas if the pothole has been reported to the city they are legally obligated to pay for all damages done to your vehicle by said pothole.

oh yeah, the city sent me a package asking me to state why they should pay and an estimate of how much it is to fix. I don't think they will like my $800 estimate, and thats with me doing the labour.
