wow, thats weird. get a spacer and you should be good. I dont know why they;re poking out, but if your set on these rims get the stern adjustable control arms to set your camber a little negative

Spacer??? Fuck, I dont want them any further that is for sure. They stick out way to far, that is the problem. Plus I prolly need 3mm more to clear the HP2 unless I shaved them down slightly.

3mm is alot to shave off.
I would return them or get the adjustable control arms told you about

id say, (and this is just my opinion) it's a good reason to go to a body shop and see about a wide body conversion or roll the the fenders a bit. if they dont fit and you like them that much make them fit. but like i said just my 2cents.

Looks like you got the perfect offset and size for a B6/B7 a4/s4.
Seems as though you'd need an ET40 or so.
    Can you return them?

Looks like he has a KW suspension.
No matter because it cant be adjusted inwards.
Even negative camber wont help out his situation.

Probably dont need the full 3mm but I think that is the smallest spacer

Yes, they will fit perfect on the B6 for sure and should fit the C5

Is there a way to shave a bit of the inside of the wheel hubs without affecting the strength of the wheel? That is the only way to get a higher offset that I can think of.

I run 18x9 with a 35 offset and it doesn't poke at ALL in the rear so I am kind of wondering if they screwed up the actual offset on your wheels. Can you measure the centerline and see if the offset is really +35?

This is the same problem I ran into with my M-sports, except the needed like 3/4" to clear those HP2 calipers. That's the reason I just got my Wilwoods. They stick out about 1/4" less than the HP2's, which allowed me to run a 14mm spacer and clear them.

Same thing, 19" wheel with a 35 offset, that was SUPPOSED to fit an A6.

I have looked at just about everything. No room to shave unfortunately. I am thinking the same thing about the offset screwup but I did the necessary measurments and it seems to be no more than 3mm off from et35. Thats only .19in so I dont know.

Your going mexicana style LOL. My stock wheels are the BBS RC's they are 17x7.5 et43 but could use a huge spacer. Maybe 10mm

I am VERY interested in the Wildoods. They do like a smaller brake caliper how much improvement do you notice over stock?

Well, just got them put on yesterday, so I haven't had a lot of time to beat on them yet.

They do bring me to a stop in a hurry, though.

Re: Wheels came but small problem - Paging Frank & kievskiy --- tons-o-pics

hey, sorry didn't see this thread, NICE RIMS! i like! :)
Now to the problem, being that your car is 2002, it maight have different offset?
Like i said before, i have 19x8.5 with 38mm offset and i think 10mm spacer, fits under the fender with 245/35/19 like a glove.....Rears are 38mm offset too, but they are 19x9.5 with 1 INCH (!) spacer and i have less poke then you have.
There is another a6 in the picture, what year, engine? did you try to test fit on it too?
    ---
Ok, my friend this is what i found:
    http://www.xrims.com/rims_981/audi_oem_bbs_rc.html
According this your offset is +43 Front and Rear!
The wheels are fromt the same car you have.
So, this might be your problem.
    Hope it helps.

Comments: Four OEM Audi BBS RC rims (17") - will fit some VW's too:

I'm cleaning out my attic full of spare parts and these gotta go.

    Description:
For sale are a complete set of four OEM Audi BBS RC's (17x7.5; offset: et 43; bolt pattern: 5x112). These came as part of the sport package on the A6 2.7T 2002 . They are super light at 21lbs each (vs. 28lbs for the equivalent OEM Audi rim). I was going to refinish over the Winter but I need a rim with a ET35 offset instead.

Yeah, I really want to make these work. I am going to refit and lower car to see if they tuck in a little. I only need about .25 to.5 inch then they would be fine. We really had the car jacked and only on one corner so maybe, just maybe, it through things off a bit.

That car in the background is actually mine. A friend has the same car/engine and when I got to his garage he already had a wheel off. Tomorrow they will go on mine but I expect the same results because his offset for 8.5 he ran last year were also 35et.

All research leads me to believe 2002 2.7t (mine) would need the offset of 35.

The BBS's that guy has in the photo for sale are TRASHED! But yes they are 43et and could use 10mm spacer becasue they sit way in.

How do I go from this

Do you have some good photos of the side of your car to see the poke?

^^^ I have the same BBS 17's on my car, and they are 43mm offset because they are 7.5" wide, 35mm on an 8" or 8.5" wheel should be fine. It seems like that guy sent you the wrong rims.

Re: Wheels came but small problem - Paging Frank & kievskiy --- tons-o-pics

I tried to check the measurements and they seem ok.

Can someone confirm that even though these are 9.5 from lip to lip that from bead seat to bead seat they are 8.5 and that is what you measure?

It has to be becasue when I put them next to a friends 8's they were just about .5 bigger, although I did not measure.

Does anyone have a 19x8.5 et35 easily accesable? If so can you measure from the mounting plate to the lip? Maybe put something flat across the rim to measure up to.

    THANKS!!!

    Saga continues.

Ok, I have an idea...... What if I tried different rotors with about .5 less hat??

Is that possible? And keep the same caliper?
