What have i done wrong now?

My car seems to have a big vacuume leak that i cant find. I can hear it but dont see it. It's comming from the spyder hose area and when i take my oil dipstick out it sucks air in. When i put my finger on it it sucks it in. weird huh?

I tried to take my oil cap off and it took some really good force to take it off, once it came off car idles lil rough and if you put your hand on it that ****** would suck it in.

What gives? Have i switched some hoses around or what??

btw. i just got done installing my stage 3 last night and this is the first time car has been started. I also did headgaskets, intake mani gaskets and some other ods in that area. Spyder hose is also new.

I would just take a flash light and start going through every hose in the rear area of the engine(between the engine and the firewall). When we finished jeremys install we had hooked a hose up to the wrong conection causing the engine to rev up about 1,500RPM's every 30 or so seconds. Found the hose and fixed it and it was good. Sorry I cant help you with the exact hose but that was my experience.

Spray soapy water where you hear the leak. It will start to bubble.

It doesn't seem right that you have a vacuum leak and there is significant vacuum in the crankcase. I'm really worried about the headgasket or something. Do you have a boost/vacuum guage? It seems to me that you should never have that kind of vacuum in the dipstick tube.....hmm. keep us posted on this one. good luck. It's almost like the PCV system is not hooked up correctly or something.

There is alot of vacuum in the crankcase. All the crankcase hoses look ok and you cant really mess up the spyder hoses. WTF? this sucks. I took the car around the block and barely got into boost and car seems to pull nice.

I wonder if i go and drive it for a lil it might seal it self lol The leak i heard is comming from the purge valve or whatever you call it that connects to the y pipe. It's probably because the vaccum is so strong.

check your pcv valve. this happens on the 2.0t's too when the crankcase breather valve goes bad. you cant take your oil cap off is the number one indication of this. that's where I would start. good luck

It's brand new from ECS. What's the chance of it being bad?

the fact that you have vaccum on the crankcase...
is the PVC hoses and valve OK?

try pulling & plugging it and see if the vaccum on the crank goes away...

PVC hose and valve is all new bought and put on when the motor was out. This is really stupid. Now im wondering if the PCV valve could be bad even though it's new.

do you still have the original PCV valve? If so try that... I'm stumped without being there and trying to look it over in person.

i would go with the pvc valve. If its new then double check to make sure everything is hooked up correctly. If not then try another pvc valve and if that doesnt work well then you got me...

It's brand new and if it's bad that sucks. When i disconnect the hose that connects to the y pipe i can ntell it's sucking up air. Wouldnt that be good?? I have my old one sitting here and i can blow air through it no problem in and out.

check all your vacuum and breather lines those could be clogged as well not just your pcv. grab a can of brake cleaner and start spraying the vac lines and pcv hoses and if their leaking you'll notice a change in idle. do you have any oil leaks? have you scanned it for codes yet? good luck! haha bosanac?

i think its the breather filter valve thing... connected to the y pipe its like a 2 inch diameter circle black thing..

thats the only reason i would see it sucking vac through the oil dipstick

I will go through everything in the morning again. The black thing you talking about is the regulator valve, what's the chance of it being bad since it's brand new?

I wish you could just replace the valve alone but you have to replece the whole stupid spyder hose. I guess i can cut it off and put my old one in just to see if it helps.

Still havent figured out this leak. Today i unhooked the F hose and that ****** is sucking up air like crazy so i know it's comming up from the intake mani. Is there some kind of a regulator someplace? to slow down vacuum.
