Exhaust talk!

ok so i have the full APR cat-back kit, and i was wondering it anyone has any good ideas, or suggestions for me changing the mufflers? iam going to be keeping the center muffler and the piping , so i would just need to weld on 2 new mufflers for the rear and as of now, the left side doesn't fit very well and they have a bad drone to them when its really cold or really hot and when the RPM's get really high, so do you guys know if anyone sells stainless steel universal mufflers that wont create drone? and that should fit and sound pretty good? thanks!

i would like to go with the same look, just maybe a bit bigger tips?

Magnaflow all the way... Go with longer mufflers. I have zero drone in my car. 4 mufflers total, all 18" long. Mids are 4" round, rears are 5"x8" ovals. Can get regular stainless or polished. I have turn downs, so you don't see mine. I went with non polished and even painted them high temp flat black. You see nothing.. Except the occasional flames spitting from them of course

Search for some of my other exhaust posts. I have more details and some pics in some. There was a recent thread too, like a week ago, I remember..

I know you are out in PA, but if you ever come to Long Island let me know & you can hear it.. Many have heard it and all have raved about it. Silent til you get on it hard then it sounds like a tuned Euro Supercar...

I actually have a similar set-up to ENDEE666. I have all but the center 4" round resonators.
Thats going to change as of some time next week though. By that time I will have the same set-up as ENDEE666. I have to add the resonators my fiance won't ride in the car with me. Apparently, it's too loud. I like it! But...

That's funny, I have APR turbo back and no drone at all. Maybe you need downpipes?

might as well sell the APR and go full custom; by replacing the mufflers, the R&D of the full exhaust is wasted.

hmmmm, I was thinking of picking up the cat back APR. Does anyone else have this drone problem? Want to make sure I make the right move here.

look up vibrant..alot of s4 people like them and they make the sport exhaust for audi

i think im doing vast piggies, keeping the APR pipes and RES , and just cut the 2 APR mufflers off and weld 2 Magnaflow stainless exhaust, with maybe RS6 oval style tips, or somthing a bit bigger than the APR tips.

So your telling me you should have gone custom to begin with?? Woulda saved money.

Well the second video sounds like crap because he has no downpipes. The other two had downpipes. I am just getting the vibrant mufflers and and x pipe connection piece. It is gonna be custom piping. You cant go out and get a cat back for our cars because our exhaust set up is different than the s4. In my opinion it sounds alot like the milltek exhaust (my friend has a vibrant set up) and the mufflers only run 120 bucks a piece

I will be installing this set up on my car within the next couple of weeks. So I guess we'll see what 2 mufflers with the x pipe sounds like

not big as the RS6, but that style, i don't think OEM RS6 tips would fit, and i dunno i might sell it or chop it up, but thats not untill summer.
