    It Moves Again...

My car finally moves under its own power again after my clutch disc took a dump at the track and was replaced. I put in AWEs RS4 clutch and lightweight flywheel and couldn't be happier. I still have a little breaking in to do but it feels so good. The pedal is a little more stiff which is how I wanted it to be but it is still so easy to drive and completely streetable. The lighter flywheel makes it rev up and down faster so no complaints there. I would definitely recommend this setup to anyone.

The engagement point isn't harsh like some clutches where the clutch is either in or out. Plus it's closer to the floor instead of having to let the pedal out 32 feet before it grabs.

Maybe it's just me but I like the engagement point up at the top, makes for quick quick shifting with just a little press on the pedal.

It vibrates a little if your in a lower gear at a lower mph but if you keep it above 1500 rpms or so it is smooth as butter.

The engagement point on this is perfect. I haven't felt an Audi clutch I like better than this one. It shifts so smooth and I haven't broken it in yet so I'm not slamming gears but the shifting is faster than before.

That SHOULD go away as u get broken in. There are actually 2 different characteristics of the single mass flywheel that I think are confusing now that I think about it. These are:

    1) Chatter which I define as the rattling noise that the car makes @ idle with the AC on and the car not moving clutch in/out doesn't matter.

    2) Vibration which is felt as the clutch is engaged before being properly broken in.

My "chatter" has remained the same just turn on the AC and its there.
My "vibration" upon clutch engagement is now almost @ stock smooth levels.

    Re: It Moves Again...

Clutches chatter because of vibrations so to me "chatters" and "vibrations" are the same thing. But to answer you I haven't heard any rattling from my car at idle just a mild amount of rattling at really low rpms which is normal.

    Re: It Moves Again...

I think the "chatter" issue should be a sticky. Is it and audible "rattle" that goes away if the clutch is pushed in? Or is it a "vibration" felt, like a misfire, in the car/clutch pedal during low RPM engagments?

There is no chatter when the car is idling clutch in or out. There is a slight vibration at low rpms in a high gear. If your keep it above 1000-1500 rpms you won't hear a peep.
