Part number and price would be helpful. I decided to not put mine back on after jumping my girlfriend's car, and well lets just say, it's broken...

I remember reading something in the manual about not jumping cars. I jumped somebodies car once and noticed significant power loss after, but it fixed itself

I just jumped someone last week, and I noticed my MPG went crazy high - the ECU said I was getting 30MPG in the city. The next day everything was back to normal. I might not jump anyone else. I kind of had to do this one though - it was the senior partner at my firm, and he was too cheap to call roadside assistance to the parking garage.

    Re: Battery Cover

Yea Sam mine is broken too and my battery needs to be replaced tomorrow. Is it ok to run the car with out that whole cowl area. I've seen a couple cars without it but I don't know if it's ok I might take mine off tomorrow.

    Re: Battery Cover

The 2005 models came without the battery cover from the factory. To me, it looks weird, but apparently is OK. The engine compartment has weather sealing, so it keeps pretty dry. Most other cars don't have covers over the battery.

    Re: Battery Cover

Hey Sam. I just replaced my battery today and removed that whole plastic cowl over the battery and cabin filter and I think the master cylinder. I think it looks a lot better.

    Hmm...

I might look into that... My cowling got cracked when I did my coil over install and forgot to put it back on then preceded to step on it...

    Re: Battery Cover

I would like to remove the cowl, but my passenger wiper arm is apparently welded on. I can only remove the driver's side - to get to the ECU requires flexible shafts, steady hands, skinny wrists, and luck.
