Increase HP with automatic

Can i increase Power having the Automatic Transmission. I have the 03 A4 1.8T and i am planning on a bigger turbo
I have $2000 and i want to buy a turbo. Labor i can get that money once i get the kit. Let me know how big of a kit i can buy. or if not the kit, if there are any stock parts i can reuse and i dont have to buy.

2000 will not get you anywhere near a new turbo.

your looking at around 4-5k for a BT kit when its all said and done

thats just the turbo.

thats not all youll need.

supporting mods are a good 3 grand.

edit: apr kits are SUPER expensive. you can piece something together for less.

sure you can get a turbo for that much, but you need all the supporting mods for it, which is $$$

But if i just do a Apr Stage1+ Reflash its only $1000 for reflash and injectors and i make same amount of power. So y i get that K04?

youll be making only around 20 more hp than stage 1+ but youll have more torgue and a bigger torque spike and more area under the curve.

most people here till tell you that a k04 is a waste of money and go BT.

i agree, i was going to buy a k04 but decided to save up for a GTRS.

dont buy from APR, its overpriced. you can find a k04 and injectors for much less than 2k from APR

Like stated above, you can get a decent array of turbo's for 2k. But all the supporting mods are what's gonna add up quick.

Can you tell me if i can buy the Stage 1+ online, its asking for the ECU number. where can i get that from? And what will i recieve in the mail as the stage1+ and who will install it for me once i get it?

you have to pull your ecu out and send it to them, theyll program it and send it back..
its all answered on the website.

your better off finding a local tuner near you and getting it done through them.

take a look into REVO and GIAC tuning too.

I think u are better off driving into a local tuning shop and having them reprogram ur ECU with out laying a fingerprint on it. This will be more convenient plus REVO and APR are having Christmas sales right now. Not sure about GIAC or UNITRONICS.

Intercooler/Brakes/Maint are ur next BIG expenditures.

Quick question, Should i do some bolt-ons before the reflash so i can gain the maximum power. Any bolt-ons and stage 1+ can take the Torque to 300 to the crank? damn im such a noob when it comes to Turbo cars man :( . My last TL-S gave me 300hp to the crank with just couple of bolt-ons thats actually 40hp more :D

you can start with an exhaust and testpipe, then a stage 1+ or stage 2 from revo,

if you do plan on EVER going bigger, go REVO since they let you update to BT software for only $200

CTS is running a special on the ko4 with install kit at 950 shipped. Get yourself some used seimens 380cc injectors which pop up on the classifieds here all the time, a tip, and the software and you should be at or about two grand. Their thread is on page three of these forums as we speak.
