thats not the same kit.. Metra 99-9102 dash kit it doesn't have the second "ring"

X2 D1 is better D3 you have to put the disc in everytime you navigate...gay.

I have the metra kit and mine looks just like that. But my buddy who installed it i think used something to either make that second ring or had it from another head unit im not sure.

This is sooo confusing.. AVIC-D3 uses Navigation DVD also has DIVX codec...
AVIC HD3 Has 30 gig hdd, RNS-E - i dont like RNS-D i still got questions about..
1. Does it play DVD's?
2. What size it the screen?
3. Does it play MP3 CD's?

the d3 plays Dvd's and MP3 cd's.
the screen is 6.1 inches. if you are intrested in one, i have a few in stock and im trying to get rid of them. AMAZING unit.

Thats a killer deal hes got going if anyone is thinking about getting the d3 thats the way to go. And get one before they disappear the f series has nothing on the d3.

If I remember correctly the 2nd ring (as pictured) does not come with the D3. It comes with the Pioneer install kit adt-va133

There is a ghetto ring that comes with the unit but it's useless.

Actually...the 'ghetto' ring that comes with the D3 looks 100 times better than the one that comes with the adt-va133.

The adt-va133 ring is bulkier, sticks out further, and is a cheaper looking plastic. If you want the unit to stick out a little, this kit is fine. If you want a flush mount, you need to make custom brackets. Not hard to do if you have some metal, a little saw, and a drill. Use a pair of scissors to trim the D3 ring to fit the metra kit, and you have a clean looking setup.

I should take pics of mine and do a writeup. Maybe in time...

Please post up some pics.....A D3 is in my near future....but dont really like the two different plates
