Im way to lazy to re-write this, its what I posted on my local forum.
There are a few things I wish Audi had done differently with the S4. 1) Allow better access to the turbos for turbo swaps. 2) Allow better heat dissipation in the engine compartment. 3) Shed 100 to 200 pounds. 4) GET RID OF THE DRIVETRAIN SLOP!
Earlier tonight I had gone down to Eurowise to get a goodie put on my car. Besides chipping the S4 this is probably the best performance to cost upgrade available. It’s the drive train stabilizer from AWE coupled with the JHM bushing upgrade. When Daniel and I pulled the motor and tranny for my car to swap in the K04's I was so excited because I had recently purchased new engine and tranny mounts from 034. I decided to go with the street density engine and tranny mounts rather than the track density (the street density is made without air pockets and the rubber is 10% stiffer than stock while the actual drive train movement is reduced by 25%... and the track density is 90% stiffer and drive train movement is actually eliminated.(034motorsport)) Back on topic, when we finished my k04 swap I was really excited because I noticed the oem tranny and engine mounts I had were cracked allowing allot of forward and rearward movement, so I figured there would be a significant difference. Driving it around I was very disappointed in the new mounts, I could feel a difference but there was just way too much jerking individually with the drive train and the body. I felt like I had put all of this money, time and effort to make the car faster but the slop was worse than my old '94 accord. So I immediately figured I should have gone the track density route, but then I purchased the AWE DTS with the JHM poly mount upgrade. Had Mike throw it on and I retract my previous statement about hating the street density. I still would have liked to have put in the track density mounts but it's just too much hassle to deal with. So if anyone else in the Audi community is able to get this upgrade I would defiantly recommend it, and if you're planning on upgrading mounts as well and are afraid of the track density for daily driving I assure you, you will be pleased if you mate the combination of street density mounts (not OEM density) and the DTS w/ JHM bushing upgrade. If anyone is planning on going to any meets and or is local and wants to feel the difference there are a few S4's around here that don’t have it who I'm sure wouldn't mind giving you a ride, and then I'll take you for a ride. Anyway Thanks again Eurowise, AWE, and JHM... I finally feel like my firewall is not going to slam into my block.
