Speed Tuning Chip 1.3 Bar..... Anyone Have One?

I was just wondering if anyone is running a 1.3 Bar chip in their B5 A4 Quattro? I am looking to get a chip from Speed Tuning and was wondering peoples feedback on 1.3 bar chip. BTW my car is a 2001 a4 quattro.

Would a n75 h or j vavle cause a me to go into limp mode with this tune?

I hate to flame people on this forum baord, so I don't (as I hate seeing people belittled, unless they get on my nerves ). But basically just get the speedtuning flash 1.3 bar, forge dv (place in yellow spring), boost gauge and call it a day . A chip is not that big of a decision as many would conjecture. No need for an upgraded n75 valve or mbc.

Hi, I have this chip and I have a question to others. Since my n75 is broken, I have an mbc in place. I have it set to 18psi and am noticing very bad gas mileage (22.7mpg). What kind of boost numbers are you guys seeing? I have a feeling I may need to turn it down..

From what I have read from reviews, Speedtuning is not in any way a new company. I think they are originated out of Austria and are just starting to expand thier business to the states. Their tunes are just as good as the other companies. It is just that a company can not just come from left feild, expect to market thier goods at $500 and expect sales. People would rather just go with what is a reputable company whom has established thier footprints into the tuner industry (ie GIAC, APR, Revo, Unitronic, etc). I myself went with CTapp mainly because I want to get a BT application later on. I can upgrade with them later on at cost to reach price of BT tune and they have MAFless tunes. If I were to just want to get my ECU flashed and not want to go BT, I would def go the Speedtuning route. All in all, I have read nothing but great reviews from Speedtuning. My 2 cents

yeah, i have ST, and couldnt be more happy

(i had a small leak in the vac line coming off the front of the intake mani when i got it, so initially i was like this isnt anything great... but for under $200 i was still impressed) and after i fixed it, it REALLY sets me back in my seat... definitely a noticeable gain in the butt dyno


and i got it for $125 with that stupid group buy everyone bitched about ; )

I see spikes at about 20-21 and holds about 17-18. My hwy mileage is better than stock but in town I noticed a drop as well. Best bet if you're watching mileage is to keep throttle as steady as possible when accelerating/cruising and only boost when necessary.

I'll add to that. If you have a boost gauge, the more it goes past "0" and into boost, the more fuel you're wasting. I generally drive (when it's up to temp) in the 5-10 in Hg range. People behind me don't like it, but I get pretty decent mileage.

Exactly the technique I use, yet it does not help me at all. I think I need to boost leak test it again since running seafoam did not help at all.

i got the 1.3 bar tune.. love it.. pulls nice and has got some torque. i threw on an MBC after my n75 and im making 20-22 psi

Yeah, it's really easy to miss if you're coming down the way really fast like I was. It didn't help it was a rainy day and my patience had been tested by 495 rush hour traffic. Definitely recommended as an excellent inexpensive alternative to the usual suspects. I've had mine for a few months and I haven't had any issues.

Ya i'm defiantly sending my ecu out this weekend. So stock n75 valve is fine I plan on doing 3in piping from turbo back and also getting a forge dv. Can't wait till x-mas getting some h&r race springs and grooved billies.

yeah, 2.5 should be plenty big, i have that, and my exhaust sounds great : )


btw - i highly recommend going the custom exhaust route... i had borla, and wasnt all that pleased... so i sold it, and brought my car to a little local exhaust shop that i heard did good work, and i brought them the magnaflow muffler i wanted, and one of these resonators (i steel wool'd the paint off when i got it) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

The sound imo is the prefect sound for our cars... its deep and just a little raspy, but doesnt sound rice at all. so for (180 for magnaflow, 20 for the resonator, 60 for install) i spent 260 on the whole works with 2.5" piping between the two.

that paired with st chip, im a cheapskate lol but am very happy

Well It's an overkill but I don't think that it will have negative effects performance wise.
