    Try this again...

So, my car stalled out a couple times on cold starts, misfired for several minutes until it warmed up, so I figured, hey... change to hotter spark plugs you idiot. Got some cheap BKR6E's and just put them in, car is running smooth on cold start again. What I did notice however was some oil on spark plug number 1, the rest had a tiny bit of oil, but not as much. Valve cover Gasket replacement time?

could this be blamed on doing the evap removal and not having vacuum pressure on the valve cover?

how I have mine set up... probably screwed up. I'd really like the exhaust attached to this for vacuum, don't know if I can find somebody to do it on the cheap.

Where are all the OG's at? Don't need more talk about where people ordered their spark plugs, and how much it cost them in my thread. No offense, just want this one to stay on topic

I guess I labeled it wrong, it's the PCV vent from the block... which I guess should also be under vacuum?? I know some people are running their 'cleaned up engine bays' the same way.

    Re: Try this again...

your PCV is setup basically the same way as mine right now. I'm still tossing the idea of having the bit that's tied into the exhaust installed... not sure if i want to. apparently if it's not at the EXACT angle and placement it should be it won't work - and you'll actually get backpressure in the system.

anyways, sounds like you found your problem with the plugs. and yes - it also sounds like it's time to change the valve cover gasket.

if you ever have any more questions about the whole vacuum line removal thing - feel free to PM me, i'd be glad to help any way i can.

Great call on the spark plugs a lot of folks have been having the same problem too lately.

I haven't done the evap removal mod but when I did my plugs the oil I noticed down there came from spillage when topping up motor oil without a funnel. Gud Luk...
