As for the OP, I believe many people have installed that steering wheel into a B6 and I think there is an additional kit that would need to be purchased that would allow for it to deploy correctly. As to whether anyone has experienced it or not, that will be tough to get an answer from but I know it will work.

i don't see where the disparity was from what he asked. I thought it was pretty obvious from his original post, and something i have been wondering as well. Derlicaman's DIY on the MK2 TT steering wheel was well written, but i believe it didn't complete the information on whether the dual stage airbag will truly work on the single stage airbag system of the B6.

yeah i don't know out of how many people that have done that install will have had the experience to tell you the answer to your question. Maybe you should try doing it and then make the airbag deploy without having to be in an accident and if it works say "yay, now i'm safe and i can pay to have my airbag put back in", and if not well then sell it to someone and put your regular steering wheel back on.
