    VAST Meth Kit

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Not sure if this has been posted up yet, but it looks like VAST has come out with a 2.0T specific water/meth kit. Link. You can either cut into the stock throttle body inlet hosing, or have a bung welded on to a FMIC setup.

Christmas is now looking like AWE BT + AWE FMIC + VAST Meth

    Re: VAST Meth Kit

you would obviously want it as close to the TB as possible, remember u want taht water/meth to stay as cold as possible to cool down the intake manifold.... if u weld it to the FMIC, then it still has a chance to get hot in the travel, i have mne tapped into the TB and i felt the difference, if you want to run meth and use ti down by the FMIC, then you are better off with cryo2 since that is made to be sprayed at the intercooler

Does this kit run on WOT or is it adjustable and runs based on boost level ?

I heard from a couple people who ran it tapped into the TB that down the road somehow the meth damaged the internals of the TB and they had 2 replace it... But that could have also been bad luck because you've had it for quite sometime already with no issues. I personally have mine tapped to the IC pipe.

    Re: VAST Meth Kit

I have the VAST 2.0t kit. It is by far easy to set up, and the kit is put together well. It has a controller that steals a signal of the MAF which is the plug on the drivers side top exit of the inter cooler. You can set when you want it to to start the spray and when you want full spray. the controller also shows when there is signal from the MAF (or turbo load). Thus at idle or revving the motor it does not spray. Hooking up took 45 min. Time is dependent on how you get through the fire wall. I have a #4 and #5 nozel. I have been running a #4. Works great. I use either my 93 or 100 file. I did however place a inline power switch so I can shut the system off when I want. Not too familar with the CO2 sprayer but the meth has alot of advantages. To steal some words" take an alchol pad and wipe it on your wrist. Then blow on it. That is what meth does, super cools the air, and when it burns it burns cold. Thus lower your IAT's and with pump gas it is like running 110 octane." Now I can say dont expect a kick in the pants when running it. Just consistent pulls and a strong power pull. Just my $0.02

Just to correct you a little the cooling comes from the water, the methanol increases the effective octane. Nothing burns cold

IIRC most kits use the washer fluid reservoir.

so if you tap into the windsheild washer fluid, you can;t use the windshield washers anymore? I know you'd be spraying meth if u did but there are some instances where I've needed my washer fluid lol
Selling Nogoro blue Alcantara door panels. Will fit b6/b7 a4/s4/rs4. In great condition, originally wanted $600 shipped but dropped price to $500 shipped. Check my classifieds for pictures. I want these gone, will include extra door clips if requested. PM me if you want pictures of them installed or anything else I want these gone so make me an offer and we'll talk.

You can, and if you use the -20 wiper fluid, it would still work to clean the windshield. "My" preference is to use a separate tank and use pure methanol mixed with distilled water.

And for placement, I chose near the throttle body: http://www.alcoholinjectionsystems.c...icle_info.html

You can use your washers, you'll just be spraying whatever your mixture in the tank is on to the window.

If my washer pump worked than that's what I would do.

I bought the VAST Up-pipe as well. It's a BITCH to get fitted correctly. If it had 1/2" longer silicon couplers or if the pipe was 1/2" longer, it would be much easier to install without problems.

btw, anyone know what I can use the other tapped bung on the pipe for? It comes with 2

yea i went out to install mine when i got it aND THE THING DID NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO FITTING!! and i tried it on my stock sytstem and since I have installed the ER FMIC and the sensor is on the up pipe so the pipe from vast is a paper weight. I emailed them and they said they have had no complaints about fitment LOL I find that hard to believe. You lay the stock pipe next to the one the supply and it's night and day in size.

Yah, I'll send them an email lol.

I'm going to have to find a tig welder around me since I plan on getting an ER FMIC this winter as well and I'll have to weld a plate onto the TB Up-pipe so I have drill and tap it for the meth nozzle.
